  • Publication number: 20190111565
Abstract: The present disclosure describes a robotic training system designed to simulate the behavior of humans, animals and even machines and is not only able to receive both physical and non-physical input from a user interacting with it but the robot also has the ability to transmit a response back to the user that is indicative of an emotional response consistent with a programed personality profile. The robot training system has one or more emotional state, including training states, and will transition from one of the training to either another training state or a different emotional state when a transition point to be reached, the input upper limit is exceeded, or the input lower limit is crossed at which point the system may also switch to a different personality profile. The robot training system may further comprise an uncanny response limit above which the system prioritizes not being wrong over delivering a correct answer.

  • Publication number: 20190028844
Abstract: A system and method for retrieving both public and private location-based messages. The system and method utilize location-based services and processing to determine when the mobile device is no longer driving, has arrived at, is in the vicinity of, is dwelling at, and has left a particular location and then can deliver private messages based upon this information and other user specified criteria. Additionally upon arrival at new location, the mobile device will query a server to determine if there is any category specific public information related to this new location.

  • Publication number: 20140277997
Abstract: Technologies for detecting malfunctioning of an engine are disclosed. The technologies include filtering an operation signal of the engine, converting the filtered signal to a direct current signal, and determining whether the engine is malfunctioning based on an amplitude of the direct current signal. The operation signal may be filtered using a band-pass filter.

  • Publication number: 20060013913
Abstract: A method and apparatus for forming laminate composite structures. At least two laminae, each containing electrically conductive reinforcing fibers, are placed upon each other in contacting relationship to form a generally layered structure. The layered structure may be subjected to heat to conductively transfer heat through the layered structure and thereby improve the surface contact between the two laminae. The layered structure is volumetrically heated by inductively transferring energy to the electrically conductive reinforcing fibers. The heated, layered structure is consolidated, such as by applying pressure and reducing the temperature of the layered structure. The consolidated structure is then quenched by rapidly cooling the consolidated structure in a directionally controlled manner about a midplane thereof.

  • Publication number: 20020116318
Abstract: The disclosed invention provides an electronic market and related methods particularly useful for negotiating the exchange of transportation services between shippers or carriers and shipping customers. Embodiments include an electronic catalog-type listing of carrier services and related rates such that buyers can purchase services at periodically listed prices, and an electronic auction exchange whereby buyers can bid on the available capacity of carriers or whereby carriers can bid on shipping orders requested by customers. In preferred embodiments, carriers and shipping customers can take into account pre-existing business relationships by designating other carriers and/or customers as preferred business partners or customers. Participation in auctions or qualification for discounted catalog rates can be limited only to those preferred partners or customers.
