    Abstract: A chair comprises an inclined front support member and an oppositely inclined rear support member intersecting the front support member. A seat is fixed to the rear support member and extends in a generally horizontal direction. An upper tension member near the seat and a lower tension member near the base connect the front support member to the rear support member in such a manner that controlled motion is achieved, without the need for additional tension members.
