    Abstract: Systems and methods for managing sensor assignments in a thermal management system. In embodiments, a sensor network includes a plurality of sensors and a plurality of gateway devices, and managing sensor assignments includes assigning sensors to gateways based on sensor location in a coverage area, reassigning moved sensors to new gateway devices, and disconnecting sensors from previously assigned gateway devices to eliminate conflicting reports and erroneous sensor alters and alarms. In embodiments, managing sensor assignments includes polling gateway devices to identify dormant sensors and disconnecting dormant sensors from gateway devices. The system and methods may be implemented in a data center environment.

    Abstract: A system and method for coordinating gateway polling in a multi-gateway sensor system, for instance a sensor system implemented in a data center for monitoring thermal conditions. The system includes at least two subsets of sensors in communication with at least two gateways, and a controller in communication with the at least two gateways configured to implement a dynamic polling scheme to coordinate polling of the at least two gateways. In embodiments, the dynamic polling scheme includes scheduling non-overlapping timeslots at which to poll the gateways and/or intervals at which to poll the sensors to avoid data packet collisions.

A plurality of load cell sensors is mounted to the walking beams in locations where, when the walking beam bends, the sensors are placed under load. The load cell sensors include a symmetrical strain bar having first and second mounting ends connected by a connecting span, wherein the end thickness is greater than the span thickness of the connecting span. The connecting span is disposed between and spaced apart from an upper plane and a lower plane with which the surfaces of the mounting ends are aligned.
