Abstract: A golf swing training device for improving the accuracy, club head speed and power of a user's swing can be customized to fit the various abilities and sizes of individual golfers. The device guides a user through the proper swing and by repeating the proper swing, the user can enhance his or her muscle memory. The golf swing training device includes a shuttle moveably mounted on an adjustably supported ring and a club moveably supported by the shuttle.

Abstract: An injection molded sole (10) has an upper ungrooved portion (2) and a lower tread portion (4). At least two, continuous, undulating S-shaped grooves (6) extend generally longitudinally of the tread portion between the toe and heel ends thereof, and a plurality of grooves extending generally transversely intersect the longitudinally extending undulating grooves. The grooves have a minimum depth of about 5 mm and define individual separated tread areas (28) which can be moved apart during flexing of the sole (10). The flexibility of the sole is such that when it is incorporated in footwear, it does not restrict rolling movements of the foot when walking so that a gait can be adopted which is akin to barefoot walking.

In order to establish a connection into the cellular network, an identity token is required for authorization. A remote service, accessible over a Wide Area Network such as the internet, can register with the access point. When a connected user attempts to connect to the remote service, information derived from the identity token is inserted into the data traffic. Where the identity token identifies the access point, the remote service can return location-specific information. Where the identity token identifies the connected user, the remote service can return subscriber-specific information. The access point can insert information derived directly from the identity token, or it can use the identity token to access a service identity registry, and can then insert the service identity into the data traffic.

The access point subscribes to publish-subscribe messages from the or each other access point identified in said information, and sets its radio configuration information in view of the received messages from the or each other access point.

The load bearing apparatus includes a load member configured to simulate the mass of a payload, a frame having frame members, a plurality of retainers configured to support the load member, and first and second outer guides coupled to the load member. The plurality of retainers includes a first retainer positioned at a first height and configured to support the load member at the first height, and a second retainer positioned at a second height different from the first height and configured to support the load member at the second height. The first and second outer guides are coupled to the load member and are configured to receive therebetween at least one lifting member of a lifting device. By using load members of different weights and positioning them at varying heights, different centers of gravity can be achieved.

Abstract: A safety circuit for use in low-voltage systems improves safety of and additional features to low-voltage connections. When incorporated into a battery, the circuit leaves the battery disconnected from the low-voltage system until it determines that it is safe to make a connection. When the safety circuit determines that no unsafe conditions exist and that it is safe to connect the battery, the safety circuit may connect the battery by way of a “soft start” that provides a connection over a period of time that reduces or prevents inductive voltage spikes on the low-voltage system. A method is used for detection of proper polarity of the connections between the battery and the low-voltage system. When incorporated into a jumper cable, the safety circuit provides communication abilities, can provide test abilities, and improves connection safety and functionality, such as allowing transfer of power between low-voltage systems having different voltages.

Abstract: A system for controlling a roller shade having a roller tube windingly receiving a shade fabric varies roller tube rotational speed for constant linear shade speed. The desired linear shade speed, roller tube diameter and shade fabric thickness and length are stored in a memory for use by a microprocessor. Preferably, the roller tube rotational speed is varied by the microprocessor depending on shade position determined by signals from Hall effect sensors. The microprocessor maintains a counter number that is increased or decreased depending on direction of rotation. Based on the counter number, the microprocessor determines shade position and a corrected rotational speed for the desired linear shade speed. Preferably, the microprocessor controls roller tube rotational speed using a pulse width modulated signal. The system may be used to control first and second roller shades having roller tubes of differing diameters or shade fabrics of varying thicknesses.

Abstract: An access point has a connection to a wide area network, and is configured to allow a device to connect thereto, and includes an Application Programming Interface for allowing a remote application to connect to the access point over the wide area network, and to obtain information relating to the device connected to the access point. In particular, the access point is configured to allow a device to connect thereto over a wireless interface, and to provide bearer translation such that traffic over the wireless interface can be directed over the wide area network. The Application Programming Interface may then allow the application to obtain information relating to a connection status of a wireless device associated with the access point.

Abstract: A rights-managed document has protected content from an author thereof, whereby a recipient of the document can render the protected content with a corresponding license if the recipient satisfies terms set forth in the license. In the document, a storage portion has a message that the document is rights management protected, and a custom data portion has a section including the protected content. The recipient if enabled can render the protected content in the custom data portion and if not enabled can only review the storage portion having the message. An enabled recipient handles the received rights-managed document by recognizing that the document has the protected content in the custom data portion thereof, and discounting the storage portion of the document. Thus, the recipient examines the custom data portion of the document and proceeds based thereon to render the protected content in the custom data portion.
