  • Publication number: 20020193509
Abstract: The coating composition of the invention includes a polymer, especially an acrylic polymer, having hydroxyl and/or primary carbamate functionality; a water-miscible organic solvent; a low hydrogen bonding oxygenated solvent; and water that is emulsified in the organic phase. The coating composition of the invention may be a clearcoat coating composition, preferably an automotive clearcoat coating composition. The invention further provides an article, such as an automotive vehicle, having a surface coated with a coating derived from the coating composition of the invention, particularly a composite coating having a basecoat layer and a clearcoat layer, and a method of producing such a coating on a substrate, particularly as a basecoat/clearcoat composite coating, with the coating composition of the invention preferably being at least the clearcoat of the composite coating.

  • Publication number: 20020144424
Abstract: A portable hair drying system including a rechargeable blower having a generally cylindrical configuration. The blower has an enlarged base portion and a muzzle portion. The muzzle portion allows air to be blown outwardly therethrough. The base portion has a belt clip secured thereto. A handle portion is adapted for removably coupling with the rechargeable blower. A flexible tube is adapted for removably coupling with the rechargeable blower. A drying cap is dimensioned for being positioned over an individual's head. The drying cap includes an interior layer and an exterior layer separated by a central air chamber. The interior layer is positioned on the individual's head. The interior layer has a plurality of aperture's therethrough in a spaced relationship. The exterior layer has an open collar in communication with the central air chamber. The open collar is adapted for removably coupling with the flexible tube.

  • Patent number: 5980056
Abstract: An outdoor lighting fixture for providing coordinated visual and audio effects which includes a first housing adapted to be carried by a ceiling support, an electric light source mounted in the housing for directing light downwardly therefrom and a plurality of chime members, preferably tubular in configuration, depending from the housing in a laterally spaced array within the area below the light source. Upon activation of the light source in a light breeze, the chime members will contact one another to provide the melodic audio effect of a wind chime while their movement below the light source creates a moving shadow effect on the floor below having a tempo corresponding to that of the melodic audio effect created by the contacting chime elements.

  • Patent number: 5629522
Abstract: Apparatus for and method of increasing the effective integration time, and, hence, reducing the noise bandwidth of a photodetector. The current output of the photodetector is converted to a voltage signal in a low pass filter. The low pass filter is preferably implemented as a switched capacitor filter.

  • Patent number: 5526098
Abstract: A book support structure for a copier machine includes a top wall constructed and arranged for receiving and supporting a sheet of glass. A first sloping side wall has an edge integrally formed with a first edge of the top wall and extends downwardly and outwardly at an angle from the top wall. A second sloping side wall has an edge integrally formed with a second edge of the top wall and extends downwardly and outwardly at an angle from the top wall and in a direction perpendicular to the direction of the first side wall.

  • Patent number: 5419008
Abstract: A ball joint assembly comprising a base member, a spherical member, a ring of at least three rolling members mounted around the spherical member such that a point on a rolling surface of each of the at least three rolling members contacts a point on a first great circle on the surface of the spherical member, the ring of rollers being freely rotatable around the axis of the first great circle, at least two capture rolling members, one capture rolling member being mounted such that a rolling surface of the one capture rolling member is in contact with a point on the surface of the spherical member above the plane of the first great circle and another capture rolling member being mounted such that a rolling surface of the other roller member is in contact with a point below the plane of the first great circle.

  • Patent number: 5390464
Abstract: A method of forming a concrete column capital using a flexible tension membrane material in place of the traditional rigid panels currently used for this purpose, is described. A flexible tension membrane material is attached to an opening in a panelized flat slab formwork deck located directly above a pre-existing concrete column. The membrane forms a bag-like container which contains and supports the wet concrete, and serves to form a column capital between the column and the flat slab above. Also disclosed are methods for anchoring the flexible tension membrane capital form to a panelized flat slab formwork deck.

  • Patent number: 4650333
Abstract: A non-contact system for detecting printed circuit wiring defects and for measuring circuit feature height relative to a substrate. The system has an energy source for illuminating the substrate and circuit features and a scanner for both instantaneously receiving energy reflected from the substrate and circuit features and for generating a signal in response to the reflected energy, which signal is adapted to vary with the intensity of the reflected energy. An analyzer is connected to the scanner for correlating the generated signal to a measurement representative of the height of the circuit features relative to the substrate. Variations and non-uniformity of the substrate surface due to bending, warpage or other causes can be accounted for so as to provide an accurate measurement of the height of a circuit feature relative to the substrate surface on which it is mounted.
