Patents by Inventor Mark Adam-Christopher SIEM

Mark Adam-Christopher SIEM has filed for patents to protect the following inventions. This listing includes patent applications that are pending as well as patents that have already been granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

  • Patent number: 11771938
Abstract: The disclosed invention relates to novel biocompatible firefighting foam compositions that include a deep eutectic solvent. Disclosed are methods of making and using firefighting foams containing deep eutectic solvents, which may also be used in existing fire foam compositions as drop in solvent additives. The deep eutectic solvents may also be used in or as a principle component of surrogate firefighting foam compositions.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 26, 2017
Date of Patent: October 3, 2023
    Assignee: Tyco Fire Products LP
Inventors: Pamela Havelka-Rivard, Stephen A. Barker, Mark Adam-Christopher Siem
  • Patent number: 11338162
Abstract: It has been discovered that low molecular weight poly(ethyleneglycol) (PEG) can be used in place of diethylene glycol monobutyl ether (DGME) in fire foam concentrates without compromising the desirable properties provided by DGME. Surprisingly it has been found that lower molecular weight PEG with a weight average molecular weight Mw of 400 or less provides comparable performance to DGME with considerably lower toxicity. Use of this PEG permits preparation of fire foam concentrates that exclude DGME completely and that are less toxic than conventional DGME-containing concentrates.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 8, 2018
Date of Patent: May 24, 2022
    Assignee: Tyco Fire Products LP

  • Patent number: 10369395
Abstract: Fire foam concentrates are provided that contain trimethyl glycine as a freeze suppressant, an effective amount of at least one anionic, zwitterionic or nonionic surfactant, and an effective amount of a foam stabilizing agent. Methods of preparing fire fighting foams from the concentrates, and methods of fighting fires using these foams, also are provided.

Date of Patent: August 6, 2019
    Assignee: Tyco Fire Products LP
Inventors: Martina E. Bowen, Mark Adam-Christopher Siem, Stephen Aloysius Barker
