The elevator includes base blocks for placing on the floor and for receiving the legs of an adult bed, hospital bed, cot, crib, toddler bed, or the like. The elevator also includes a variety of mechanisms for adjusting the height and angle of the sleeping surface, including elevating blocks. A centerpiece, connected to the base blocks, to facilitate installation of the legs of the sleeping surface into the elevator is also provided.
