  • Patent number: 7630672
Abstract: A system and method for determining a color separation registration error in a multi-color printing system are provided. The system and method provide for instructing first and second color separations to mark a substrate with first and second fine-periodic-patch images to determine color separation registration error(s). The system and method further provide for determining whether at least an about half-period color separation registration error exists between the first and second color separations.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 21, 2007
Date of Patent: December 8, 2009
    Assignee: Xerox Corporation
Inventors: Thomas M. Baretsky, Anne K. Fitzpatrick, David Kerxhalli, Wayne Morganti, Mark S. Petrush, Mark Alan Scheuer, Rod Stair, James W. Stevens
  • Publication number: 20090253064
Abstract: A process for creating custom colors including: creating a plurality of neutral gray scale primary components of varying darkness levels; selecting one or more non-gray scale primary components; and combining one or more of the plurality of neutral gray scale primary components with the one or more non-gray scale primary components; the plurality of neutral gray scale primary components are compatible with dry blending techniques of the one or more non-gray scale primary components in order to shift a hue of a designated target primary.

  • Patent number: 6236474
Abstract: A method of correcting for error in an output color of a colored output image in a marking device intended to match a desired image includes the steps of detecting a current output color in the output image with a color sensing device, determining a difference between the current output color and a corresponding target color under standard conditions, and automatically setting a marking device input-output relationship for a next output color based on the difference between the current output color and the corresponding target color under standard conditions to minimize the difference between the next output color and the corresponding target color.
