  • Patent number: 7965503
Abstract: A fan [36] and storage device [37] mounting assembly [1] for an electronic device comprises a base [2] having opposing front [4] and rear [5] walls. The rear wall [5] has a plurality of ventilation openings [11] provided therein. A support [16] has a fan [36] mount [32] arranged adjacent to the front wall [4] and substantially perpendicular thereto and a storage device [37] receiving opening [20] arranged between the fan mount [32] and the ventilation openings [11].
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 27, 2007
Date of Patent: June 21, 2011
    Assignee: Thomson Licensing
Inventors: Mark Alan Yoder, Brian Michael Scally
  • Publication number: 20100254156
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a light pipe that is used to illuminate a portion of a surface of a set top box when the instrument power is turned on. The light pipe can be molded for example from plastic. The light pipe should advantageously be a good carrier of photons down a linear path. Additionally, light pipe should allow for light to be transmitted out the sides of the part.

  • Patent number: 7605962
Abstract: A clamping spring (70) formed of a sheet of resilient material having an interconnected plurality of alternating first and second tabs disposed around the periphery thereof is disclosed. The first tabs (72) being angled upwardly and having mounting slots (73) therein. The second tabs (74) being angled downwardly. A force applied to the first tabs provides a consistent controlled clamping force at the second tabs.

  • Patent number: 6490173
Abstract: An apparatus and method for shielding electrical components mounted on a printed circuit board (PCB) from electromagnetic and radio frequency interference by reducing the dissipation of heat away from solder joints. In an embodiment of the invention a radio frequency (RF) shield for a printed circuit board comprises a shield for RF shielding a portion of the PCB having electronic components mounted thereon. The shield has a first portion and a second portion, wherein the first portion has a reduced cross sectional area, for reducing heat conduction between the first and the second portion when the first portion of the shield is inserted into a first plurality of holes in the PCB, for soldering the first portion of the shield to a copper foil of the PCB.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 19, 2000
Date of Patent: December 3, 2002
    Assignee: Thomson Licensing, S.A.
