  • Publication number: 20240144605
Abstract: In an example in accordance with the present disclosure, an augmented reality (AR) display device is described. The AR display device includes a frame to be worn on a head of a user and a lens disposed within the frame. A user is to view a physical scene through the lens. The lens includes multiple regions. Each region is individually addressable and has a tint value that is individually adjustable. The AR display device also includes an input to receive virtual content to be presented on the lens and an imaging system to present the virtual content on the lens. The AR display device also includes a controller which 1) identifies a first region of the lens on which the virtual content is to be presented and 2) selectively adjusts a tint of the first region while suppressing a tint adjustment to a second region of the transparent lens.

  • Publication number: 20230408830
Abstract: A head mounted display assembly is provided. The head mounted display assembly comprises a head supported structural frame to support a display viewable by a user of the assembly, the structural frame including upper and lower surfaces. The assembly comprises a mounting interface on the lower surface of the structural frame, the mounting interface for releasably coupling an accessory device to the assembly. The mounting interface comprises a magnetic portion for attracting an opposing magnetic portion of the accessory device upon alignment of the accessory device with the mounting interface, and for repelling the magnetic portion of the accessory device upon misalignment of the accessory device with the mounting interface, and a communication interface for communicating data with the accessory device.

  • Patent number: 11847267
Abstract: In an example in accordance with the present disclosure, an input movement tracking device is described. The input movement tracking device comprises a tracking device housing and a connector to mechanically attach the tracking device housing to an input device. The input movement tracking device also includes an electrical connector to receive input from the input device to be transmitted to a host computing device. A tracking system disposed within the tracking device housing tracks a position and orientation of the tracking device housing and the input device in physical space and a transceiver disposed within the tracking device housing communicates with the host computing device.

  • Publication number: 20230368574
Abstract: In an example in accordance with the present disclosure, an extended reality system is described. The extended reality system includes an extended reality headset to be worn on a head and cover eyes of a user. An imaging device of the extended reality system captures an image of a portion of the user's face below the extended reality headset. An image analysis device of the extended reality system extracts, from the image, features of the portion of the user's face below the extended reality headset. The image analysis device also identifies the user based on a comparison between extracted features and a database of identified users.

  • Publication number: 20230214025
Abstract: In some examples, a machine-readable medium can store instructions executable by a processing resource to designate a first field of view of a first sensor of a head-mounted display as an active area, designate a second field of view of a second sensor of the head-mounted display as a gesture area, detect, when present, a gesture in the gesture area and cause an effect of the gesture to occur responsive to detection of the gesture.

  • Publication number: 20220051642
Abstract: An example display system includes a brightness engine, a pupil engine, and an adjuster engine. The brightness engine identifies a brightness range and the pupil engine identifies a pupil size property. The adjuster engine modifies a display property based on an adjustment to the brightness range based on the pupil size property. In another example, executable instructions cause identification of a brightness level within a range corresponding to a tolerance of pupil constriction and cause adjustment of a display property when the display brightness level is expected to exceed the pupil constriction tolerance. In an example method, a brightness range is identified that corresponds to a maximum constriction and maximum dilation of a pupil, content data that exceeds the brightness range is identified, and a display is caused to present the content data within the brightness range.
