  • Patent number: 9696352
Abstract: A switching device is controlled by a microprocessor to selectively configure the circuit between a current measurement mode and a calibration mode. When the switch is set to the “on” state, the circuit acts as a normal prior art circuit, with the output Vout being read by the microprocessor to determine the current to the load. However, when the switch is set to the “off” state, a small value resistor (which may be roughly three orders of magnitude greater than Rshunt) connects the inputs of the measuring circuit so that the circuit can generate an output Vout corresponding to the zero load current. By connecting the V+ and V? inputs together with a low resistance resistor, the no-load condition Vdiff=V+?V??0 applies. In this state, the no-load offset can be determined by measuring the output voltage of the circuit without turning off the load.

  • Publication number: 20170184319
Abstract: A desiccant air conditioning system for treating an air stream entering a building space, including a conditioner configured to expose the air stream to a liquid desiccant such that the liquid desiccant dehumidifies the air stream in the warm weather operation mode and humidifies the air stream in the cold weather operation mode. The conditioner includes multiple plate structures arranged in a vertical orientation and spaced apart to permit the air stream to flow between the plate structures. Each plate structure includes a passage through which a heat transfer fluid can flow. Each plate structure also has at least one surface across which the liquid desiccant can flow. The system includes a regenerator connected to the conditioner for causing the liquid desiccant to desorb water in the warm weather operation mode and to absorb water in the cold weather operation mode from a return air stream.

  • Patent number: 9689164
Abstract: A roof panel includes a planar body having top and bottom edges, with a downturn edge extending therebetween, and an opposing channel edge. The downturn edge overlays a channel edge of an adjacent panel. The bottom edge overlays a top edge of another adjacent panel. A plurality of courses extends between the channel and downturn edges. Each course includes a nesting ridge to receive the downturn edge of an adjacent panel and to position a top surface of the panel flush with adjacent panels. Surface channels and contoured ridges are defined within each course. A drain aperture of the drip edge aligns with an adjacent channel edge to direct material through the drain aperture and onto adjacent panels. A gable member engages an edge when the panel has one or fewer laterally adjacent panels, wherein the gable member is flush with the adjacent planar body.

  • Patent number: 9686478
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for generating high-dynamic range images. In particular, a signal-to-noise (SNR) ratio objective associated with an imaging platform configured to capture one or more images of a region of interest using an image sensor having a first portion and a second portion can be determined. The SNR objective can specify a desired SNR response as a function of a brightness of the region of interest. A first integration time and a second integration time can then be determined based at least in part on the SNR objective. Data indicative of a plurality of image frames can then be obtained. Each image frame is captured by exposing the first portion of the image sensor for the first integration time and exposing the second portion of the image sensor for the second integration time.

  • Patent number: 9675719
Abstract: A staging control process for an evaporative media cooling system having a plurality of media stages is disclosed. In one step, a leaving air dry bulb temperature setpoint for air exiting the evaporative media cooling system is received or defined. In one aspect, an expected media exit dry bulb temperature is calculated for each media stage based on a dry bulb temperature and a wet bulb temperature of air entering the media cooling system and based on a measured or assigned condition of the media. In another aspect, an estimated combined leaving dry bulb temperature is calculated for different combinations of activated and deactivated media stages. Once the estimated leaving temperature is known, the method can then activate the media stage(s) associated with the combination that has an estimated combined leaving dry bulb temperature that is nearest to but less than the leaving air dry bulb temperature setpoint.

  • Patent number: 9678864
Abstract: A device includes one or more data storage media having a main storage area, and includes a non-volatile cache memory and a controller. The controller stores a plurality of data packets into a plurality of physical locations in the main storage area. Each of the data packets is associated with a different logical block address (LBA), and each of the physical locations is associated with a different physical location address (PLA). The controller generates mapping information that links the different LBAs to the different PLAs. Upon detecting a soft error when reading a data packet stored in a physical location, the controller relocates the data packet associated with the soft error to a physical location of the non-volatile cache memory. The controller also marks the physical location as a suspect location. The controller updates the mapping information to reflect the relocation of the data packet associated with the soft error.
