  • Publication number: 20160209314
Abstract: A method and apparatus for maintaining the rate of flow of hydraulic or lubricating fluid through a particle contamination sensor or monitor at an acceptable level is disclosed. The rate of flow may be a specific value or lie within a desired range of values. Regardless, maintaining the rate of flow at an acceptable level improves the accuracy of information produced by the contamination sensor or monitor. A display for displaying the particle information created by a particle contamination sensor or monitor in a manner more easily understood by maintenance personnel and a method of creating such a display is also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20160207213
Abstract: An apparatus and method suitable for performing cutting operations on a product to yield a reduced-size product, for example, slicing, strip-cutting, dicing, shredding, and/or granulating a food product. The apparatus includes a casing, an impeller adapted for rotation within the casing about an axis thereof, and knives that perform, in sequence, slicing, strip-cutting and crosscutting on a product to produce reduced-size products. The apparatus is capable of performing a method by which a product is introduced into the impeller and the impeller is rotated to slice the product with a slicing knife and produce therefrom slices having peaks and valleys on opposite surfaces thereof and a cross-sectional shape that periodically varies in thickness. Strips are then produced from each of the slices by forming parallel cuts, each coinciding with a peak of each slice so that each strip has a width substantially identical to a wavelength of the slice.

  • Publication number: 20160210268
Abstract: We describe methods and systems for managing visual objects within an interactive visual interface controlled by a digital computation device. More specifically, the visual objects include text and are arranged in outline-like hierarchies. In broad terms, this invention makes it easier to interchange content among traditional documents, relational brainstorms, and chat dialogs. To accomplish this, we integrate unique combinations of user interface motifs. Some embodiments involve integrating multi-line text editing into an outlining environment. Some embodiments focus on motifs involving a draggable handle in an outline. Some embodiments focus on multi-panel outlines. Some embodiments focus on creating links that can be traversed in both directions. Some embodiments focus on detecting related or redundant content while the user is brainstorming or composing text. These motifs are integrated in various combinations to create interfaces that are more useful than when implemented in separate applications.

  • Patent number: 9395301
Abstract: A method of monitoring a surface temperature of an environmental barrier coating (EBC) of a hot gas component includes directing an excitation beam having a first wavelength at a layer of a temperature indicator formed on the hot gas component. The method also includes measuring a fluorescent radiation emitted by the temperature indicator. The fluorescent radiation has a second wavelength and an intensity. In addition, the method includes determining a surface temperature of the EBC based on the intensity of the second wavelength of the fluorescent radiation.

  • Publication number: 20160198925
Abstract: A handle apparatus includes a substantially elongate cylindrical section, a bulbous top section formed at the top of the elongate cylindrical section, and a flange section formed proximate the bottom of the cylindrical section. A trigger can be positioned within a recess formed in the elongate cylindrical section. The flange can extend outwardly from the elongate cylindrical section a greater distance than the trigger to prevent damage to the trigger if the handle falls to the ground. The bulbous section can have an oblate spheroid shape, and a gripping band that provides a comfortable grip to the user and helps prevent the handle from slipping when leaned against a wall. The handle can be utilized on a cleaning implement, such as a liquid dispensing mop.

  • Publication number: 20160200236
Abstract: According to at least one exemplary embodiment, a system and method for synchronizing and controlling at least one dolly may be provided. The system may include at least one dolly, a power unit, and a control device, all communicatively coupled via at least one network. Dolly coordinates and steer points for a load may be recorded. Adjustments to the dolly may be made based on desired changes to the orientation of the steer points.

  • Patent number: 9382857
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for delivering gaseous fuel as multiple fuel injections split between an intake stroke, a compression stroke, and/or a power stroke to expedite exhaust catalyst heating during an engine cold-start. Fuel injected in the intake and compression stroke is ignited and combusted. The power stroke fuel injections are combusted in the exhaust port to increase exhaust temperature and pressure for faster catalyst light-off.

  • Publication number: 20160188226
Abstract: An example method includes providing at least two data storage areas in a memory, providing a first amount of over-provisioning for a first of the at least two data storage areas and a second amount of over-provisioning for a second of the at least two data storage areas, categorizing data based on a characteristic of the data, and storing the data in one of the at least two data storage areas based on the categorization.
