  • Publication number: 20210229136
Abstract: An ion source comprises an ionising light source arranged to output ionising light for ionising a sample material, an electrode presenting an electrode surface for attracting the ionised sample material and upon which contaminant material is able to accumulate, and an ablating light source arranged to output an ablating light beam or pulse(s) for ablating material of the electrode from the electrode surface. The ablating light beam or pulse(s) does not include said ionising light. A reflector for reflecting the ablating light onto the electrode surface, therewith by a process of ablation a part of the electrode surface is removable from the electrode together with contaminant material when accumulated upon that part.

  • Patent number: 10340131
Abstract: A method of cleaning an ion source. The method includes: at a first reflective surface of a mirror, reflecting light that has a wavelength in a first wavelength band onto a surface of the ion source so that contaminant material is desorbed from the surface of the ion source; at a second reflective surface of the mirror, reflecting light that has a wavelength in a second wavelength band and that comes from the surface of the ion source towards an imaging apparatus for producing an image of the surface of the ion source, wherein the light that has a wavelength in the second wavelength band passes through the first reflective surface of the mirror before being reflected at the second reflective surface of the mirror.

  • Patent number: 8110134
Abstract: Lightweight trays are fabricated containing a multitude of cavities in shapes for molding dobies for supporting concrete reinforcing, such as rebar. The trays are sized to fit boxes of a convenient size and weight. The trays are also designed in a way that when placed into the box they make a seal between the tray edges and the inside wall of the box. This seal allows the cavities in the tray to be filled with grout without spilling into a lower tray. The trays are also designed so that when placed into the box and turned, alternating 180° to each other, the lower tray provides support to the upper tray. The boxes are sealed and the dobies are allowed to cure inside the box. The size and arrangement of trays and boxes is designed to fit uniformly on a standard pallet for convenient handling, storage, and shipping.

  • Publication number: 20110060372
Abstract: A bone fixing device (10) for fixing bone pieces together. The bone fixing device has a pair of spaced apart fixing portions (12), each having at least one hole (14) dimensioned such that a bone screw can extend there through; and a pair of substantially rigid connecting members (18) extending between the fixing portions, the connecting members being deformable without substantially losing rigidity. In use, each fixing portion is fixed to one or more of the bone pieces by a respective one of the bone screws such that the connecting members extend across one or more fissures between the bone pieces. The connecting members are simultaneously deformed such that the fissures are closed with the bone pieces held in compression.

  • Publication number: 20050204535
Abstract: A seal clamp assembly for sealing an opening in a piping system includes, in an exemplary embodiment, a base having a first side, a second side and an aperture extending therethrough from the first side to the second side, and a brace coupled to the base. The brace includes a distal pad hingedly coupled to a distal end portion of the brace. The seal clamp assembly also includes a spring bridge coupled to the base first side. The bridge includes a substantially rectangular U-shaped frame and an aperture extending through the spring bridge frame such that the spring bridge aperture is in substantial lineal alignment with the base aperture. A clamping assembly is coupled to a proximate end portion of the brace.

  • Patent number: 5900180
Abstract: A disposable object form line for use in horizontal casting of building panels from settable material in which at least one side has an exposed face of embedded objects. The object form liner is comprised of a thin support sheet having an adhesive coating on one side. A closed cell plastic grid having ridges which define openings sized to fit the outer perimeter of the intended objects is provided. The grid is adhered to the adhesive coating on the support sheet. Retarder strips may be inserted in each opening to prevent contamination of the face of the object during the pouring process. The form liner is placed in the bottom of a horizontal mold. The objects, such as bricks, are positioned in the openings provided in the layout form liner and the settable material is poured into the mold to form a construction panel. After setting, the panel and disposable form liner are removed from the mold and the liner is stripped from the panel to expose the objects embedded in the surface.
