Patent number: 12284615Abstract: A backhaul system operative to: increase network capacity, prevent unwanted re-transmissions, and facilitate multiple hopes. The system utilizes a first sequence and a second sequence of periods in conjunction with wireless packet transmission by several adjacent nodes, thereby (i) preventing a transmission of a downlink packet to a mid-point communication node from interfering with reception of any previous downlink packet in a node adjacent to the mid-point node, (ii) preventing a transmission of an uplink packet to the mid-point node from interfering with reception of any previous uplink packet in yet another node that is also adjacent to the mid-point node, and (iii) preventing transmissions of packets by the mid-point node from interfering with reception of any other packet in the mid-point node. Multiple beams are then used to counter a residual effect of multiple transmissions arriving in the mid-point node at the same time.Type: GrantFiled: February 21, 2023Date of Patent: April 22, 2025Assignee: Juganu Ltd.Inventors: Pinchas Ziv, Alexander Bilchinsky, Dani Fichman, Gal Zuckerman, Mark Altshuller

Patent number: 7630712Abstract: A method for re-connecting a mobile terminal roaming in a wireless network via a target base station (TBS) after the occurrence of an uncontrolled disconnection of the mobile from a serving base station (SBS) via which the mobile was receiving and transmitting communications prior to the uncontrolled disconnection. An entity is established associated with the wireless network operative as a single authentication access entity (SAE) for the mobile, as long as its location remains within that wireless network, the identity of which is sent to the SBS. Following the occurrence of uncontrolled disconnection and in response to the mobile sending an indication to the TBS, the TBS is requested to execute the entry of the mobile as a handover process. The SBS transmits the identity of the SAE to the TBS. At the TBS, parameters associated with the mobile are retrieved from the SAE.Type: GrantFiled: March 15, 2006Date of Patent: December 8, 2009Assignee: Alvarion Ltd.Inventors: Mark Altshuller, Oleg Marinchenco, Leonid Shousterman

Publication number: 20070258406Abstract: A method for carrying out a handover of servicing a mobile terminal from a currently serving base station to another base station in a cellular network, comprising the following steps. The currently serving base transmits information associated with the mobile terminal to one or more of its neighboring base stations. The neighboring station(s) respond by providing the serving base station with information related to the quality at which they are able to receive communications from the mobile terminal. Based on the responses received from the neighboring base stations, the serving base station selects which of its neighboring base stations will be the target base station for the mobile terminal. Upon selecting the target base station, a handover procedure is carried out, following which, the mobile terminal will receive and transmit communications via that target base station.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 2, 2006Publication date: November 8, 2007Applicant: Alvarion Ltd.Inventors: Tal Kaitz, Mark Altshuller, Leonid Shousterman, Dan Stopler, Ran Yaniv, Guy Reina
