Abstract: A hand tools similar in design to the commonly known locking pliers. The present invention includes an offset in the jaw, placing them in a separate but parallel plane to the plane of both the handles. This offset provides clearance between the present invention and the installation surface of the material to be grasped; e.g. screws, bolts, nuts. By removing this interference the tool can more effectively engage the item thereby increasing the opportunity to manipulate the material. The offset also increases the ability of the operator to utilize the tools by providing clearance for the operator's hand. By providing clearance for the operator's hand the tools can both be clamped with more force and more force can be applied while manipulating the article in the jaws of the tool.

Abstract: A hand tool similar in design to the commonly known “linesman” pliers with the added capacity to control the cut material during and after the cutting operation. The addition and placement of a shear edge on the outside of the jaw assembly allows the invention to maintain control of the cut material and to further manipulate the material if needed. The invention also include a tine on the leading edge of the above mentioned shear edge to increase the capacity of the invention to gain initial control of the material to be processed.

Abstract: A hand tools similar in design to the commonly known locking pliers which are available in a number of configurations. The present invention includes enhancements that allow the tool to efficiently and effectively provide force parallel to the centerline of a controlled article, i.e. a shaft. Inclusion of reinforced jaws, a plurality of parallel oriented jaw ridges (teeth) and holes for the employment of jack bolts allow this tool the option of providing much of the same utility as the common variety of locking pliers while allowing the above mentioned longitudinal force application. This force application is enhanced by the use of impact tools on the reinforced jaw and/or jack bolts.

Abstract: A communication apparatus comprises a transceiver circuit enclosed in a case having a control panel for operation thereof, the case defined by a case thickness and a case length; the case providing a battery bay adapted for receiving a battery, the battery bay and the battery each providing corresponding power terminals positioned for mutual contact with the battery installed within the battery bay; the power terminals including at least one RF circuit ground terminal establishing a ground voltage level for transmission and receive signals of the apparatus; an electrical conductor engaged with an outer surface of the case, the conductor terminating at the at least one RF circuit ground terminal.
