Publication number: 20240125483Abstract: A cooking exhaust hood system, that has an exhaust hood adapted to be located over at least one cooking appliance and an exhaust fan connected to the exhaust hood, with the exhaust fan having a controllable exhaust air flow volume. A camera monitors a surface of the at least one cooking appliance and provide an image signal representing a visual status of the at least one cooking appliance. An image processing controller is connected to an image database and is configured to receive the image signal and to compare the visual status of the at least one cooking appliance based on the image signal to stored images in the image database. The image processing controller then output a cooking appliance status signal. An exhaust fan controller is provided that is connected to the exhaust fan. The exhaust fan controller is configured to receive the cooking appliance status signal and adjusts the exhaust fan accordingly.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 16, 2023Publication date: April 18, 2024Applicant: Franke Technology and Trademark Ltd.Inventors: Mark Ashley, Alan Greer, Gregory Richards

Patent number: 11085649Abstract: An exhaust hood includes a housing, which is open towards a bottom face to capture cooking by-products from a cooking appliance positioned below the exhaust hood. The housing has a first wall and a second wall opposite to the first wall. The second wall is at least partly inclined inwardly from the bottom face towards a top face of the housing and has an exhaust vent to extract cooking by-products captured by the housing. The exhaust hood has a fresh air fan and the first wall forms a first duct which has openings located in a row along a lower edge of the first wall adjacent to the bottom face and oriented inside the housing. A side wall extension extends from one side wall and forms a lateral skirt that defines a pass-through window having vertically and horizontally extending faces.Type: GrantFiled: January 16, 2020Date of Patent: August 10, 2021Assignee: Franke Technology and Trademark LtdInventors: Michael Sperka, Wolfgang Kunze, Ireneusz Czapp, Mark Ashley

Patent number: 10578315Abstract: An exhaust hood includes a housing, which is open towards a bottom face to capture cooking by-products from a cooking appliance positioned below the exhaust hood. The housing has at least a first wall and a second wall opposite to the first wall. The second wall is at least partly inclined inwardly from the bottom face towards a top face of the housing and has an exhaust vent that communicates with an exhaust fan to extract cooking by-products captured by the housing. The exhaust hood has a fresh air fan and the first wall is shaped to form a first duct which has a number of openings located in a row along a lower edge of the first wall adjacent to the bottom face and oriented to the inside of said housing. The first duct is in communication with the fresh air fan to inject air streams through the openings into the housing in a direction substantially parallel to the bottom face. This creates a vertical flat air stream directed from the first wall towards the second wall.Type: GrantFiled: December 21, 2017Date of Patent: March 3, 2020Assignee: Franke Technology and Trademark LtdInventors: Michael Sperka, Wolfgang Kunze, Ireneusz Czapp, Mark Ashley

Patent number: 6909992Abstract: A count down monitor may be configured to automatically generate an alert that one or more limited lifetime components included in multiple computer systems are due for replacement. For example, a system and method that provides up-to-date system configuration data for the multiple computer systems may include and/or interact with one embodiment of a count down monitor. The count down monitor may be configured to automatically generate an alert to indicate one or more of the limited lifetime components are due for replacement. The alert may be visual. The count down monitor may be configured to generate various types of alerts.Type: GrantFiled: November 5, 2002Date of Patent: June 21, 2005Assignee: Sun Microsystems, Inc.Inventor: Mark Ashley
