  • Publication number: 20250041220
Abstract: The present disclosure is related to an apparatus and system for synthesizing and administering particle-based therapeutics at the point-of-care. The apparatus includes a first chamber for receiving a first solution including lipids in a first solvent, a second chamber for receiving a second solution including nucleic acids in a second solvent, a mixing channel in communication with the first chamber and the second chamber, and a delivery system in communication with the to the mixing channel. The first solution in the first chamber and the second solution in the second chamber can be introduced into the mixing channel. The particle-based delivery system form in the mixing channel and the nucleic acids adhere to the particles. The formulated particle-based therapeutics are passed through a delivery system to a subject for administration.

  • Patent number: 10492709
Abstract: Body-mountable devices are provided to detect the presence or status of an analyte in subsurface vasculature of a body by detecting fluorescent reporters that are bound to instances of the analyte in the subsurface vasculature. Such devices further operate to exert an attractive magnetic force on magnetic nanoparticle-containing probes that are configured to bind to the analyte, thus concentrating the analyte proximate the devices by magnetically exerting attractive forces on such probes that are bound to instances of the analyte. The analyte can be an extracellular vesicle that is characteristic of a cancer, and a body-mountable device as described herein could be used to detect such extracellular vesicles in a portion of subsurface vasculature such that a presence or status of a tumor could be determined based on an amount, presence, or other detected property of the extracellular vesicle.

  • Patent number: 10292631
Abstract: Body-mountable devices are provided to detect the presence or status of a tumor in a body by detecting one or more properties of a probe located in subsurface vasculature of the body. A wearable body-mountable device can be worn for a protracted period of time to detect a probe in the vasculature at low concentrations and/or at low rates. A body-mountable device can detect properties of the probe that are indicative of whether the probe has interacted with a tumor of the body and determine the presence or status of a tumor in the body based on such detected properties. Additionally or alternatively, the probe could be introduced into the body as a probe aggregate and released from if the probe aggregate is absorbed by a tumor. The presence of released probes could be detected to determine a presence or status of a tumor in the body.

  • Patent number: 9910035
Abstract: A system for modulating a response signal includes polyvalent functionalized nanoparticles configured to bind with target analytes located on a surface of a cell, a detector configured to detect an analyte response signal transmitted from the body, a modulation source configured to modulate the analyte response signal, and a processor configured to non-invasively detect the one or more target analytes by differentiating the analyte response signal from a background signal, at least in part, based on the modulation. The analyte response signal is related to the binding interaction of the target analytes on the cell surface with the polyvalent functionalized nanoparticles. In some examples, the system may also include magnetic particles and a magnetic field source sufficient to distribute the magnetic particles into a spatial arrangement in the body.
