  • Publication number: 20220056907
Abstract: Disclosed are improved locking mechanisms for vessels, including both pressure and vacuum/suction vessels, used in swimming pool and spa equipment. These improved locking mechanisms provide a more robust, reliable seal between the lid and the body of the vessel, and include features that make moving the vessel between its sealed and unsealed positions easier. More specifically, the locking mechanisms include features that allow the lid to move into its sealed position when the locking ring is rotated relative to the vessel in a first direction, and that allow the lid to release from its sealed position and lift off the body when the locking ring is rotated relative to the vessel in a second direction opposite the first direction.

  • Patent number: 10981808
Abstract: Chlorinators with multiple spaced gas traps and flow sensors are detailed. The sensors also may be protected, at least somewhat, from contact with scale build ups by interposition of a mechanical barrier. Ramps or other geometric restrictions may be used to increase water flow to some or all of the gas traps. Additionally, the chlorinator housing may be configured so as to route, or focus, gases toward a small-sized, high point thereof.

  • Patent number: 10144660
Abstract: Equipment and methods facilitating suitable orientation of salt-water chlorinators (SWCs) relative to the gravitational field of the Earth are detailed. So orienting an SWC in this manner reduces risk that the volume defined by its gas trap would not be accessible to hydrogen gas generated by the SWC in use. An accelerometer may be employed in connection with the SWC to assist in assessing orientation of the SWC relative to the gravitational field of the Earth.

  • Publication number: 20170002580
Abstract: Systems and methods for circulating water of swimming pools or spas are detailed. The systems may include both a main filtration pump and a secondary booster pump, with the booster pump containing a variable-speed motor. By adjusting motor speed of the booster pump, pressurized water may be supplied to certain automatic swimming pool cleaners more efficiently, without need for energy-wasting by-pass paths or restrictor plates.

  • Patent number: 7614425
Abstract: Overmolding of softer materials onto ends of rigid plastic pipes is detailed. The pipes typically are components of automatic swimming pool cleaners and connect to valves made of softer, flexible material. Because of the overmolding, flexing of the valves during operation of the cleaners does not cause significant wear of the valves in the regions where they connect to the pipes.
