  • Patent number: 7906459
Abstract: Soluble and stable liquid compositions containing a plant growth regulator selected from the group consisting of cytokinin and a gibberellin, an acid solubilizer such as citric acid, tartaric acid or glycolic acid and a solvent; as well as methods for making and using the composition are disclosed. The compositions improve solubility, handling, stability, safety, as well as activity improvements such as improved plant growth, yield, fruit thinning or sizing and quality. The compositions are soluble and stable by adding an ethoxylated alkyl alcohol wherein the growth regulator is 6-benzyladenine (6-BA) or forchlorfenuron (CPPU) and the ethoxylated alcohol surfactant is C12-15 alkyl alcohol in propylene glycol. The compositions may also contain a cytokinin such as 6-benzyladenine (6-BA) or forchlorfenuron (CPPU) that is increased in solubility and activity and by synergistically combined with GA3 or GA4A7 as well as in storage stability by adding an antioxidant.

  • Publication number: 20080071877
Abstract: An apparatus for selecting, prioritizing, saving, and receiving image data. Portions of an image can be selected and the selected portions assigned priorities. The prioritized image portions can then be saved in a prioritized graphics file. The image can be saved in any graphics file format. When a user accesses the prioritized graphics file, the highest priority portions of the image will be sent to and received by the user first. These highest priority portions will then be displayed to the user. Lower priority portions will subsequently be sent and received until the entire image is displayed to the user. This allows the areas of higher priority to be seen by the user before the user sees areas of lower priority.

  • Publication number: 20060050801
Abstract: A radio receiver is suitable for use in an OFDM wireless communications system, in which it is necessary to identify a timing point at a start of a frame. In order to ensure optimum performance of the receiver in multipath environments, it should be synchronised with the first received multipath component, although one or more of the delayed multipath components may be stronger than the first component. A method of determining the time position of the first received multipath component, determines a correlator function from the received signal, and determines the required timing point from a falling edge in a derivative of the correlator function.

  • Publication number: 20040242180
Abstract: A mixer architecture receives an input signal, which is frequency translated from a first frequency to a second frequency in a first mixer; the resulting output signal is retranslated back to the first frequency in a second mixer, the retranslated signal is added to a sample of the input, with gain and phase control, and the resulting error signal is added to the input signal when it is applied to the first mixer. This linearises the mixer output by compensating for any distortion introduced in the forward path. The mixer architecture is applicable for use in receivers or transmitters.

  • Patent number: 5881673
Abstract: A system for monitoring the time and number of times each cow in a herd is mounted for purposes of determining the most successful time to artificially inseminate cows. The system employs a single hand held receiving unit for remotely communicating with multiple individual recording units secured to the backs of the cattle. The receiving unit can remotely and selectively reset counters contained within the recording units and can remotely and selectively poll the recording units to obtain data on mounting activity for each cow. The data can be viewed on a display provided on the receiving unit or can be downloaded to a computer via a computer port provided on the receiving unit. The recording unit employs a unique switch for sensing mounting activity.
