  • Publication number: 20080036142
Abstract: An apparatus for recording an image onto a sheet medium has an entrance drive roller paired with a corresponding entrance pressure roller to form an entrance nip for transporting the sheet medium into an image recording section. The image recording section has a write head for recording onto a portion of the sheet medium being transported between the entrance nip and exit nip. The exit nip is formed by a drive roller paired with a corresponding exit pressure roller for transporting the sheet medium out from the image recording section. A motor provides rotary motion to a pinion roller mechanically coupled to the entrance and exit drive rollers. A loading mechanism provides a loading force to nest the pinion roller into rotational contact against a portion of the entrance and exit drive rollers.

Abstract: A light therapy device (40) for delivering light energy to treat medical conditions in tissues (200) includes a light source (300) with one or more light emitters, which provides input light (305). A light coupling means comprised of one or more optical fibers (310) for coupling the input light into a bandage portion (100) comprising a flexible optical substrate (50). A light extraction means (30) directs a portion of the input light out of the bandage and towards one or more localized areas of the tissues. A semi-permeable transparent membrane (400), attached directly or indirectly to the substrate, controls a flow of moisture and moisture vapor to and from the tissues. A controller (16) means controls a light dosage emitted from the light therapy device.

  • Publication number: 20060197817
Abstract: An apparatus for transporting a sheet recording medium (12) has an entrance drive roller (16) paired with a corresponding entrance pressure roller (18) to form an entrance nip (14) for transporting the sheet recording medium (12) into a scanning section (20) between the entrance nip (14) and an exit nip (24). The exit nip (24) is formed by an exit drive roller (26) with a corresponding exit pressure roller (28) for transporting the recording medium (12) out from the scanning section (20). At each end of the entrance pressure roller (18), an entrance pressure roller actuation arm (120) actuates the entrance pressure roller (18) to exert variable force against the entrance drive roller (16). At each end of the exit pressure roller (28), an exit pressure roller actuation arm (130) actuates the exit pressure roller (28) to exert variable force against the exit drive roller (26).

  • Publication number: 20050237636
Abstract: A positioning device disposes an optical component with respect to an optical axis. The positioning device has a lens carrier (14) for housing the lens (18) or other optical component, a mount (12) supporting the lens carrier along the optical axis, the lens carrier movable within the mount in at least one direction. An extended member is coupled to the lens carrier for setting the position of the carrier within the mount. A movable cam urges the extended member to effect movement in the at least one direction.

  • Patent number: 5220460
Abstract: A lens mount for positioning a cylindrical lens in x, y, z and .theta..sub.x, .theta..sub.y, .theta..sub.z directional degrees of freedom includes a carrier with a lens-receiving cavity and a spring acting in the cavity adjacent one corner of the lens to apply a biasing torque in the .theta..sub.z direction directly on the lens. The lens is positioned with a planar x-y surface against a corresponding planar x-y surface of the cavity. A plate-like retainer wraps around an opposite curved surface of the lens to hold it in the cavity. Lens adjustments in the magnification x or y axis and .theta..sub.z directions are made against the applied bias by locating screws which pass through the carrier and contact the lens. The .theta..sub.z bias loads opposite lens edges against the .theta..sub.z locating screw and a guide pin, during translational adjustment.

  • Patent number: 5210648
Abstract: A lens mount for positioning a cylindrical lens in x, y, z and .theta..sub.x, .theta..sub.y, .theta..sub.z directional degrees of freedom includes a cylindrical carrier movable to a selected z axis position within a V-shaped channel track of a base including an elongated rail. The carrier has a radially extending bracket whose position relative to the rail is adjusted to rotate the carrier within the track channel to set the .theta..sub.z rotational direction position of a lens positioned with a planar x-y surface against a corresponding planar x-y end surface of the carrier. A fixture removably attached between the carrier and the retainer provides a push-pull mechanism which applies a biasing torque on the lens, to load opposite corners of the lens against guide pins of the carrier. A movable member on the detachable fixture adjusts the position of the retainer and lens translationally in the x or y magnification direction against the bias of the applied torque, independent of the .theta..sub.

  • Patent number: 5194993
Abstract: A lens mount for positioning a cylindrical lens in x, y, z and .theta..sub.x, .theta..sub.y, .theta..sub.z directional degrees of freedom includes a carrier movable to a selected z axis position on a base including an elongated rail, and a non-precision retainer which applies a biasing torque in the .theta..sub.z direction onto the lens. The lens is positioned with a planar y-y surface against a corresponding planar x-y surface of a cavity of the carrier and is retained therein by the retainer for location in the magnification x or y axis and .theta..sub.z directions against the applied bias, with x axis and y axis directed locating screws contacting the lens and retainer. In a modified embodiment, relative z axis positioning, as well as independent magnification x or y and .theta..sub.z directional adjustment is provided in a mount that accommodates two cylindrical lenses.
