  • Publication number: 20240141912
Abstract: A seal section for use in a downhole submersible pumping system includes a bag support tube, first and second bag support plates connected at opposite ends of the bag support tube, and a seal bag extending between the first and second bag support plates. The seal section further includes one or more seal bag shields inside the seal bag. The seal bag shields are configured to prevent the seal bag from becoming damaged through contact between the seal bag and the bag support tube or the first and second bag support plates.

  • Patent number: 11843285
Abstract: Systems and methods for constructing a motor having a stator, and a plurality of rotor sections secured to a shaft which is positioned to rotate within a bore of the stator. Each rotor section has permanent magnets forming corresponding magnetic poles. Each rotor section has first and second inwardly facing keyways which are identically positioned in each rotor section and are configured to enable each rotor section to be alternately positioned in at least three distinct circumferential orientations with respect to a key of the shaft. A first subset of the rotor sections is secured to the shaft in a first one of the circumferential orientations, a second subset of the rotor sections is secured to the shaft in a second one of the circumferential orientations, and a third subset of the rotor sections is secured to the shaft in a third one of the circumferential orientations.

  • Publication number: 20210328377
Abstract: A motor lead for an electrical submersible well pump motor has three insulated conductors wrapped with a metal armor. A power connector has a housing with an upper opening into which the motor lead and a lower portion of the armor extend. The housing has an interior with a converging upper portion converging toward the upper opening. A slips member is located in the interior of the housing and has an upper opening into which the lower portion of the armor extends. The slips member has fingers that are wedged into the converging upper portion of the housing, which causes the fingers to deflect into the armor.

  • Patent number: 10760366
Abstract: A connector secures an ESP to coiled tubing containing a power cable. Upper and lower barriers in the connector housing define an upper chamber, a lower chamber, and a center chamber. An upper chamber dielectric fluid in the upper chamber is in fluid communication with the interior of the coiled tubing. A lower chamber dielectric fluid in the lower chamber is in fluid communication with motor lubricant in the motor of the ESP. Center chamber dielectric fluid in the center chamber is sealed from contact with the upper and lower chamber dielectric fluids by the upper and lower barriers. A thermal expansion device has a container portion for allowing center chamber dielectric fluid to expand into the container.
