  • Patent number: 11941956
Abstract: A cash management system comprises a management terminal, a plurality of Electronic Point of Sale (EPOS) terminals and one or more intelligent cash holding unit. There are a greater number of EPOS terminals than intelligent cash holding units, whereby one or more intelligent cash holding unit acts as a virtual cash holding unit for more than one EPOS terminal. The or each intelligent cash holding unit comprises a receiver operable to receive a signal comprising an identifier associated with a user, an access module operable, in response to the received signal, to allow access to the intelligent cash holding unit, and a reporting module operable to send a report comprising an identifier relating to the user and data relating to the contents of the cash holding unit to the management terminal. The intelligent cash holding unit can be an intelligent cash drawer unit, optionally connected to an intelligent point of sale safe.

  • Patent number: 11688252
Abstract: A method is provided for of operating an intelligent cash holding unit in communication with a remote management terminal via a Wide Area Network (WAN) or Internet Area Network (IAN). The method comprises determining an indication of the cash held in the cash holding unit; transmitting the indication of the cash held in the cash holding unit to the remote management terminal; storing indications of the cash held in the intelligent cash holding unit that are transmitted to the remote management terminal; and in response to receiving a request signal to transmit one or more stored indications transmitting or re-transmitting one or more stored indications to the remote management terminal. An intelligent cash holding unit is also provided, which is operable to carry out the method, retransmitting lost data in response to the request signal. A method of determining when data is lost and requesting that missing data is also provided, as is a remote terminal operable to carry out the method.

  • Patent number: 11238688
Abstract: An intelligent cash drawer unit or cash register is operable to process signals from load cells beneath note/coin cups when the drawer is open. It then determines the weight/value of cash in the cups, in order to either (a) detect an accurate weight in a cup comprising a poorly placed note, or (b) allow a float to be added, or a lift to be made, stepwise, whilst the drawer remains open. An intelligent cash drawer unit or cash register is also described which can detect a poorly placed note, by either (a) comparing signals from the load cells when the drawer is open, and when the drawer is closed or (b) monitoring stable readings, over a predetermined period when the drawer is closed and comparing the monitored values and where the apparent weight determined by the transducer appears to reduce by more than a predetermined amount, determining that a note is poorly placed.

  • Patent number: 6205760
Abstract: An improved manufacturing process for twisted pair exchange cables and for an improved binding machine used during this manufacturing process is provided. The manufacturing process includes a stranding phase and a cabling phase. During the stranding phase, unit cables are produced with only a first colored ribbon to identify them. During the cabling phase, a second colored ribbon that identifies the orientation of the unit within the cable is applied. This will result in units that have one of two colors (e.g., yellow or black). The improved binding machine is used to apply the second colored ribbon.

  • Patent number: 6083113
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a golf putter with a true balance includes the steps of designing or selecting a particular shape and style of putter head and then providing a putter shaft with a longitudinal axis and a neck portion which is integral with the shaft. With the putter head defined, the front-to-rear and toe-to-heel center of gravity cutting planes are accurately deterrnined. The point of attachment for the shaft into the top surface of the putter head via the neck portion is then selected and a plurality of bends in the neck are derived and made so that the longitudinal axis of the shaft passes through the front-to-rear center of gravity cutting plane. The intersection location on the top surface is between the toe of the putter head and the toe-to-heel center of gravity cutting plane. Once the shaft is joined to the head via the neck portion with a slow-setting adhesive, the putter is set on a flat, horizontal surface in order to test to see if there is any turning or rotation.
