  • Publication number: 20180223951
Abstract: A belting connection for attaching a first end and a second end of belting. The belting has a thickness. The belting connection mechanism includes a first stepped region, a second stepped region and a first fastener. The first stepped region is proximate the first end. The first stepped region has a first aperture formed therein. The first stepped region has a first thickness. The second stepped region is proximate the second end. The second stepped region has a second aperture formed therein. The second stepped region has a second thickness. The first fastener extends through the first aperture and the second aperture to attach the first end to the second end. The first stepped region at least partially overlaps the second stepped region when the first end is attached to the second end. When the first end is attached to the second end, the first stepped region and the second stepped region have a combined thickness that is no greater than the thickness of the belting.

  • Patent number: 9970573
Abstract: A cable tie assembly including a fastener that includes base member. A retention leg extends from the base member for being received by and secured to a bore defined by the support structure. The fastener further includes a first hook that extends from the base member. The cable tie assembly also includes a lock housing that defines a channel that receives the base member of the fastener. The lock housing also includes a strap for being wrapped about the article. The lock housing further includes a second hook for engaging the first hook of the fastener when the lock housing is received by the channel to prevent movement of the fastener relative to the lock housing. The lock housing further includes a cross-member disposed below the second hook for preventing downward movement of the first hook while the first hook is positioned in engagement with the second hook.

  • Publication number: 20180037212
Abstract: A primary clutch assembly for a continuously variable transmission is provided. The primary clutch assembly includes a fixed sheave and a movable sheave centered on a post for joint rotation therewith. A rotational unit disposed on the post generates centrifugal forces during rotation of the post that are translated axially to urge the movable sheave along the post towards the fixed sheave. The primary clutch utilizes an actuator assembly that is configured to establish a locked condition that prevents axial movement of the movable sheave as the rotational unit builds-up centrifugal force and an unlocked condition to allow sudden axial movement of the movable sheave towards the fixed sheave. The actuator assembly includes a bearing unit that extends through a hole in the post to contact the movable sheave in the locked condition and is housed within the hole and spaced from the movable sheave in the unlocked condition.

  • Patent number: 9850070
Abstract: Belting for use in a conveyor. The belting includes a fabric base and an environmentally friendly rubber composition. The environmentally friendly rubber composition is applied to at least one surface of the fabric base. The environmentally friendly rubber composition includes a rubber component, a filler, a processing oil and a vulcanizing agent. The filler is provided at a concentration of between about 50 and 150 parts per hundred weight of the rubber component. The processing oil is substantially devoid of aromatic oil. The processing oil is provided at a concentration of between about 20 and 60 parts per hundred weight of the rubber component. The vulcanizing agent is provided at a concentration of between about 1 and 10 parts per hundred weight of the rubber component.

  • Patent number: 8409039
Abstract: Continuously variable speed drive (CVT) have improved performance due to use of two groups of flyweight cams, each group being mounted on separate rotational members of a centrifugal clutch. One set of flyweight cams provides force to close the sheaves through the entire movement of the shift, whereas the other set of flyweight cams provides force only through an initial portion of the shift and then signs off. This provides a two stage shift behavior for the CVT that enhances power transfer to the driven pulley.

  • Publication number: 20090038869
Abstract: Disclosed is a snowmobile with a drive train arrangement that saves weight by eliminating the jack shaft and retains a chain drive final reduction while maintaining a balanced weight distribution. A sprocket and chain final reduction and the continuously variable transmission are disposed together on a common side of the frame. The sprocket and chain final reduction is disposed inboard of the continuously variable transmission. The sprocket and chain final reduction is disposed forward or rearward of the engine.
