  • Publication number: 20250071477
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to an acoustic waveguide for presenting an audio signal. An apparatus in accordance with embodiments of this disclosure can include a waveguide member comprising a hollow body having a first end and a second end. The apparatus can further include a sound source disposed at the first end of the waveguide configured to emit at least a first sound wave. The apparatus can further include a plurality of acoustic vents disposed on a lower surface of the body of the waveguide, wherein each of the plurality of acoustic vents is configured to receive the first sound wave and further configured to emit a respective sound wave based on the first sound wave, wherein each respective sound wave corresponds to a respective point sound source.

  • Publication number: 20230388690
Abstract: Systems and methods for presenting audio using an audio system supporting multiple modes of operation are disclosed. In some embodiments, elements of the audio system are configured to operate in the different modes. For example, the audio system is configured to operate in a first mode and a second mode. The audio system may be operating in the first mode or the second mode based on an application running on a system or a signal generated by the system.

  • Patent number: 11393265
Abstract: A method for measuring and logging the performance of a wheeled vehicle suspension system by measuring the dynamic performance of at least one component of said vehicle suspension system, the method including the steps of: setting the vehicle on a pre-determined path and within a pre-determined speed range; causing the suspension of said vehicle to be displaced by a substantially predetermined amount by causing the wheels of the vehicle to roll over one or more objects of known size on said path; measuring the displacement of said at least one suspension system component relative to the sprung mass of the vehicle and/or one or more fixed objects in response to said displacement; measuring the oscillation frequency of said at least one vehicle suspension system component in response to said displacement; and determining the suspension damping characteristics relating to the at least one vehicle suspension system component using the displacement and frequency measurements.

  • Patent number: 8904641
Abstract: Method of reducing performance variability of membrane scaling devices. Scaling device performance uncertainty is reduced, thereby reducing the scaling safety factor, by specifying a narrow range or subset of the set of all qualified manufactured membranes for installation into scaling devices. In certain embodiments, the scalability factor is reduced by determining where within the performance distribution a particular membrane lies, and adjusting the scaling factor accordingly.

  • Publication number: 20060187277
Abstract: A method and apparatus for forming high-speed water droplets takes advantage on a synergy of features disclosed by the present invention including a low Weber number in a chamber in which a liquid stream breaks up into droplets; a reduced break up distance for forming the water droplets by introducing turbulence into the liquid source, thereby providing a unit or tool that is of practical size; accomplishing the generation of high-speed water droplets without using a complex driver; reducing the liquid's surface tension thereby facilitating the creating of near spherical droplets; and maintaining the droplets in form until they strike the surface of a workpiece.
