Patent number: 11573989Abstract: Representative embodiments disclose mechanisms to complete partial queries entered by a user. Users enter a partial query. The partial query is used to search a short text index comprising the titles of documents. The search yields a list results. The top k entries of the list are selected and a language model is created from the top k entries. The language model comprises n-grams from the top k entries and an associated probability for each n-gram. A query completion generator creates query completion suggestions by matching n-grams with the partial query, removing candidate suggestions that to not comply with suggestion rules, and filtering the remaining suggestions according to a filtering criteria. The top N results are returned as suggestions to complete the query.Type: GrantFiled: February 24, 2017Date of Patent: February 7, 2023Assignee: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLCInventors: Peter Richard Bailey, David Anthony Hawking, Mark Blelock Atherton, Nicholas E. Publication number: 20220353081Abstract: According to examples, a system for enabling user authentication may include a processor and a memory storing instructions. The processor, when executing the instructions, may cause the system to receive user login credentials and initiate a user authentication process by receiving a challenge configured using an attribute of a system including the processor. The processor executes further instructions to determine the attribute value and to derive a zero-knowledge proof in response to the challenge. The zero-knowledge proof is provided to the challenge issuer to access services of one or more applications.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 28, 2022Publication date: November 3, 2022Applicant: Meta Platforms, Inc.Inventors: Itay DUVDEVANI, Roy Shifroni Udassin, Sona Rathod, Oliver Sam Collins, Jun Sun, Mark Blelock Atherton, Cihad Oge, Asim Viladi Oglu Manizada, Feixiong Zhang, Yuhan Guo, Huapeng Zhou, Vincent Christian Daniel Mauge, Kyle Steven Nekritz, Parvi Kaustubhi, Sanjay Sane, Shuo Shen, Kawin Prakobkit, Shivram Vaman Khandeparker, Vignesh Raghuraman

Patent number: 9747377Abstract: Among other things, one or more techniques and/or systems are provided for displaying a related content view within a search interface. That is, a search interface, such as a search application, may provide search results that are relevant to a query submitted through the search interface. For example, a main search engine results view comprising one or more search results of the query may be presented within the search interface. Responsive to a semantic zoom operation (e.g., a touch gesture), the search interface may be transitioned from the main search engine results view to a related content view comprising related content that corresponds to the query and/or a (e.g., supplemental) search result for the query. In this way, the user may explore supplemental content, such as query suggestions, images, entity descriptions/profiles, videos, and/or other content, that may be related to a query submitted by the user.Type: GrantFiled: July 15, 2016Date of Patent: August 29, 2017Assignee: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLCInventors: Daniel Marantz, Aaron C. Yuen, Priya Vaidyanathan, Mark Blelock Atherton, Parthasarathy Govindarajen

Patent number: 6081802Abstract: Accessing compactly stored map element information from memory using a received encoded identification reference which identifies a map element, such as a link or a node. A link represents a thoroughfare on a map and a node represents an end point of a thoroughfare on the map. A block number is determined and an offset value is determined from the map element's identification reference. The block number provides a memory address for the beginning of a block of memory representing a region of the map. The offset value is a memory offset relative to the block's memory address. If the block referenced by the block number has not yet been loaded, the block having information about the map element is loaded. Once loaded, the information about each link type of map element in the region is read. The link information is stored within a designated part of a block data structure. Additionally, the link information is used to reconstruct information about the map region's node type of map elements.Type: GrantFiled: August 12, 1997Date of Patent: June 27, 2000Assignee: Microsoft CorporationInventors: Mark Blelock Atherton, Paul Sean Harrington
