    Abstract: In a shock absorbing system for an offshore platform one or more shock absorbing cells receive the initial impact of a floating vessel. When such a cell becomes disfunctional or damaged, it is temporarily immobilized by positioning a stabilizer thereon. The latter is provisionally installed on the shock cell to substantially avoid relative movement between coacting parts.
