  • Publication number: 20110119981
Abstract: A tactical firearm having a receiver and a handguard connected by flanges that are secured by fasteners and each define co-planar rail mounting surfaces. A one-piece elongate sight mounting rail extends along the combined length of the receiver and handguard and has a mounting surface in face to face relation with the rail co-planar rail mounting surfaces of the receiver and handguard. The rail is tapered along its length to provide an angle of cant and to permit mounting sight devices an any desired location along its length. A barrel extends through the handguard and is secured to the receiver in a manner achieving clearance and thermal isolation of the handguard from the barrel and barrel retainer.

  • Patent number: 7908782
Abstract: A pivot mount base is assembled to or removed from the sight mounting rail of a firearm by a lever actuated cam energized rail clamping mechanism. The pivot mount base supports and provides for rotational and linear movement of a pivot shaft. A pivot shaft locator pin extending transversely through the pivot shaft is adapted to be selectively received in position controlling relation by pairs of aligned shaft location receptacles defined by the pivot mount base. A sight support device is fixed to the pivot shaft and serves to retain a firearm sighting device. The sight support device and sighting device are moveable between an operative position where the sighting device can be used to sight the firearm on a target and an inoperative position where the sighting device is positioned laterally offset from its operative position.

  • Patent number: 7272904
Abstract: A throw-lever releasable mounting system for mounting a device in quick-release relation to a support member has a mounting base having a configuration fitting opposed angulated rail surfaces and having a locator key engaging a positioning slot of the rail. Each mounting base provides for mounting and stabilization of optics mounting rings. A locking platform projects from the mounting base and defines a locking opening having a circular hard metal insert therein that defines a receptacle receiving a resilient member and providing for location of the spline/spindle shaft of a rotatable locking plate. A locking plate of a throw-lever that is rotatable between locking and unlocking positions has angulated and curved cam surfaces for forcibly engaging correspondingly angulated surfaces of the rail to achieve cam energized precision locating and locking engagement with the rail.

  • Patent number: 6557443
Abstract: A bar stock feeder and support mechanism for an automated machining center having a control system and a method for operation thereof. A work positioning structure is removably mounted to a work support and positioning table of an automated machining center and has a bar feeder top plate. Mechanized machine controlled pneumatic bar stock chucks on the bar feeder top plate have bar stock gripping collets which are closed and opened by the control system of the automated machining center for selectively gripping the bar stock during machining and selectively releasing the bar stock to permit its movement by a bar puller which raises the bar stock to a programmed height. A control umbilical cable is connected with the control system of the automated machining center and has controlling connection with each of the bar stock chucks. During operation of the machining center machining is performed serially on each bar stock, thus enhancing the productivity of the machining center.

  • Patent number: 6026580
Abstract: A gun sight mount is provided that enables the accurate and secure positioning of an optical sighting device onto a weapon or other equipment. The mount includes a base and a front and rear ring assemblies. The base is attached at at least two points to the weapon or equipment. The separate front and rear ring assemblies capture the weapon or equipment. The ring assemblies are secured to the base, whereby a secure mounting is acheived.

  • Patent number: 5048428
Abstract: A generally flat add-on desk surface is provided with hooks and stop members so that the work surface can be attached to a tablet on a tablet arm chair. Hooks and fixed stop members engage side edges of the tablet to hold the added surface in position and a retractable stop member permits simple attachment and detachment. The surface is significantly larger than the surface of the original tablet and can be added for special purposes such as examinations and the like.
