Abstract: The invention is an apparatus and method for administering a scholastic application program. An electronic transcript of a candidate is received by a clearinghouse from a school. The candidate selects one or more institutions and instructs the clearinghouse to transmit the electronic transcript to the institutions for the purpose of a screening review. The institutions receive the electronic transcript and perform automated reviews of the electronic transcript using pre-determined criteria. If the candidate satisfies the predetermined criteria for an institution, the candidate is invited to apply for admission by the institution.
