Abstract: An ERTU receives telemetry data locally from devices at a monitored site, using a real time monitoring protocols such as SNMP and Modbus. The ERTU can receive information from monitored devices using Ethernet or serial communications, wherein each selected type of monitored device is associated with a standardized address scheme. The ERTU transmits messages from that site to a centralized computer using a remote communication protocol, as agreed between the ERTU and the centralized computer, in a reliable and cybersecure manner. The centralized computer can associate the standardized address with the selected types of monitored devices, and can forward that information, or process that information itself, allowing an operator to correctly review and manage devices at the monitored site.
