  • Patent number: 8154383
Abstract: A system and method for providing keypad information to a user for a keypad coupled to an exterior portion of the vehicle is provided. The method includes receiving a first radio frequency (RF) signal from a first transmitter and increasing a first count in response to detecting the first RF signal. The method includes receiving a second RF signal from a second transmitter and increasing a second count in response to detecting the second RF signal. The method includes comparing the first count to a first predetermined count and comparing the second count to a second predetermined count. The method includes transmitting the keypad information to the display device based on at least one of the comparison of the first count to the first predetermined amount and the comparison of the second count to the second predetermined amount.

  • Patent number: 8125101
Abstract: A digitally encoded vehicle lamp switch system provided that supplies signals for controlling the lighting functions of a vehicle. The lamp switch system includes a multi-position switch circuit having a plurality of contacts. The multi-position switch contacts selectively connect a plurality of circuit connections of a vehicle lamp control module microprocessor to ground or open circuit conditions to provide digitally encoded signals to the microprocessor to selectively illuminate the vehicle lamps.

  • Patent number: 6864782
Abstract: A backup aid system (14) for detecting the presence of a trailer (12) includes a trailer connector (52a) and a backup aid controller (50) that has an input (66) electrically coupled to the connector (52a). The backup aid controller (50) monitors a voltage level at input (66). When the voltage level is above a first predetermined voltage, the controller (50) generates a backup warning signal. When the voltage is below a second predetermined voltage, the controller (50) disables the backup warning signal. Also, the system may monitor the voltage in between the first predetermined voltage and the second predetermined voltage to determine the presence of a lamp fault such as outage or corroded contacts.

  • Patent number: 6288652
Abstract: A five-switch keypad apparatus having four diodes that multiplex the switch contacts onto three sense terminals. The three sense terminals create a binary code that defines eight possible switch states. The eight states are used to indicate each individual switch closure, a lack of a switch closure, and two simultaneous dual switch closures. In an application, a decoder, connected to the three sense terminals, converts the sequence of binary codes into three control signals. The three control signals can control a door lock, a trunk lock and an automatic lock function.

  • Patent number: 6069461
Abstract: The use of a Gray code ganged wiper switch and an electronic circuit controlling the washer-pump motor and wiper motor allow the use of a minimal number of wires in the overall interval wiper system than found in conventional systems. Circuit redundancy and Gray coding method provides several added reliability features at a low manufacturing cost. The system further provides a resistorless control of the several power output functions of the system.
