  • Publication number: 20230383932
Abstract: A portable flashlight apparatus is provided that is lightweight and compact to provide enhanced illumination in an ambient environment when placed in one of a plurality of operating modes. The portable flashlight apparatus includes a base housing defining an interior space and which includes structurally defined regions that include a front housing region, a rear housing region, an intermediate housing region extending between the front housing region and the rear housing region and an end cap that closes the interior space at the rear housing region. A light module includes a first light source operable to emit illuminating light, a second light source operable to emit laser light, and a third light source operable to emit illuminating light. A magnet are arranged at the rear face of the end cap, and is operable to magnetically bias the base housing on a working surface or support surface having magnetic properties.

  • Publication number: 20210100166
Abstract: A lawn mower includes a frame, an operator support, a blade assembly, a steering system, a motor assembly, a sensor and one or more processors. The operator support is coupled to the frame and is configured to support the entire weight of an operator of the lawn mower during use thereof. The motor assembly is configured to: drive rotatable wheels so as to move the frame along the ground surface; and drive at least one blade relative to the ground surface to cut grass. The sensor is configured to detect the presence of a person or an animal in a predetermined area proximate the lawn mower. The one or more processors are configured to: receive input from the sensor, and control the motor assembly stop driving the at least one blade, the wheels, or both based on the input from the sensor.

  • Publication number: 20190337548
Abstract: A steerable omni-directional platform cart is disclosed. In one embodiment the cart may include two motorized wheels which can drive the cart in translational movement. The wheels may be selectably rotated together about a vertical axis so as to provide steering control for the cart. The wheels may also be rotated in opposite clockwise directions to cause the cart to pivot about a vertical axis. In a second embodiment, a motorized wheel is disposed with it axis of rotation disposed at a non-perpendicular angle to the platform. Rotation of the motor driven wheel about the rotational axis provides translational movement for the cart in a defined direction. The rotational axis of the wheel is selectively rotatable about a second axis to thereby selectably rotate the defined direction of translational movement about the second axis to provide steering of the cart.

  • Publication number: 20190300035
Abstract: A steerable omni-directional cart is disclosed. The cart includes either a driven wheel or a sphere disposed on a lower surface of the cart platform to provide powered motion to the cart. A mechanical element is provided to allow the direction of the powered motion to be changed by the user to thereby allow the cart to be steered. The power may be provided by a removable and rechargeable battery pack. The battery pack may drive a motor which includes a driven output element in contact with the sphere to provide powered motion. Alternatively, the driven wheel may be a hub driven wheel which is powered by the battery pack.

  • Patent number: 6763669
Abstract: A module is provided for attachment to the roof of a bus and includes all of necessary components for conditioning the return air from the passenger compartment and delivering conditioned air thereto. A module can be ganged in various relationships to collectively provide the total capacity required by the bus. Each module includes an evaporator section, a condenser section and a power section including a compressor and an inverter. The evaporator sections have a return air compartment that extends a substantial distance across the roof of the bus such that a single design can meet the needs of various return air duct installations of various types of buses. Provision is made for the selectively mixing of return air with fresh air, with the mixture then being passed by the evaporator blower through the evaporator coils and into the supply air ducts.

  • Patent number: 6763670
Abstract: A bus rooftop air conditioning system is made up of one or more self-contained modules having one or more evaporator sections and one or more condenser sections, with each extending transversely across the width of the bus, and with the evaporator sections fluidly communicating with both a common return air opening and a common supply air opening of the bus. The modules may be of a single unit configuration with a single condenser section and a single evaporator section or they may be of a double unit configuration having two condenser sections and two evaporator sections. The total capacity requirements are met by combining the use of single units and double unit configuration, with each of the evaporator sections communicating with a single return air opening and a single supply air opening in a bus.

  • Patent number: 6763668
Abstract: Rather than having a frame into which, or upon which, an air conditioning system is mounted, a bus rooftop air conditioning module has a unibody which is formed partially of structural members interconnected to the tube sheets of the evaporator and condenser coils to form a structural body which supports the components of the system. In this way the coil tube sheets combine with other structural members to form the supporting body.

  • Patent number: 6745587
Abstract: An air conditioning module having all the necessary components for conditioning air, is so sized and arranged that, when placed in an internal compartment of a bus, has its respective openings register with an existing return air duct and a supply air duct on the bus. The compartments and modules are so arranged that they can be paired in back-to-back relationship, with one on each said of a longitudinal center line of the bus. Each of the modules has an intermediate partition dividing the module into an upper evaporator section and a lower condensing section. A mixer flap is placed in an intermediate position with respect to the partition such that its position may be selectively adjusted to thereby vary the amount of fresh air and return air that is passed through the condenser coil and evaporator coil, respectively.
