Abstract: An apparatus including a first marking device; a first roller wheel; and a structure to which the first marking device and the first roller wheel are attached. The first roller wheel is configured to roll on the top of a stack of one or more plates, while the structure moves over the top of the stack, and the first marking device marks a first side of the stack with a marking material, such as ink or paint. The apparatus may further include a housing; and wherein the housing includes an enclosure containing the marking material; and a pump configured to pump the marking material out to the first marking device. The apparatus may include a second marking device, with the second marking device attached to the structure on a first side of the structure, and the first marking device attached to the structure on a second side of the structure.
