The plurality of segments are determined based on the received plurality of triggers and the metadata. The processor embeds at least one content marker in at least one segment of the plurality of segments. The at least one content marker includes attribute information associated with at least one video-on-demand (VOD) content asset. The processor dynamically generates the at least one VOD content asset based on the at least one content marker, and transmits the at least one VOD content asset to at least one server communicatively coupled with the MVPD system.

    Abstract: A system that distributes channels, to be viewed on consumer devices, receives a media feed and a first programming schedule of a first channel from a source device, and selects pre-encoded media assets for insertion in the media feed based on defined selection parameters. New channels are dynamically created based on the inserted selected pre-encoded media assets in the new channels and based on the defined selection parameters. The defined selection parameters correspond to user-preferences received from the plurality of consumer devices on which the first channel is viewed, and/or a received input that corresponds to user-selections on the consumer devices. The defined selection parameters may include audience-based parameters from an external data source. The first programming schedule is modified based on the differential insertion of the selected one or more pre-encoded media assets in different channels to generate a plurality of programming schedules for the plurality of new channels.

    Abstract: A television playout system provided in a broadcast provider system receives a playout schedule, which corresponds to a live video feed of a channel broadcasted to one or more multichannel video program distributors (MVPDs), from a playout schedule source, and generates a new channel comprising one or more video on demand (VOD) content assets, based on one or more scheduling rules of the playout schedule, to be transmitted to a plurality of MVPDs at a time specified in the received playout schedule. The received live video feed of the channel is sanitized by removal of a lower third graphical content overlay from the live video feed for the generation of the new channel. A discontinuity is inserted between program segments to allow dynamic ad insertion (DAI) within the program segments of the live video feed for the new channel.

At least a CPO from the one or more CPOs, associated metadata, and one or more channel parameters of the channel is communicated to an exchange system to facilitate a bidding procedure to populate the CPO with a media item related to a winning bid in the bidding procedure. The media item related to the winning bid is dynamically inserted at a specified position in a media feed associated with the CPO. A resultant media feed that includes the media item is distributed over a distribution network to be viewed on one or more consumer devices. The media item inserted in the resultant media feed is selected by a bidder associated with the winning bid based on an outcome of the bidding procedure in the exchange system.
