  • Publication number: 20220016285
Abstract: System and apparatus for sanitizing personal protective equipment (PPE) through the use of pulsed ultraviolet (PUV) light within a PUV light area configured to receive the PPE and having a light source to supply the PUV light. The system may further include a control mechanism in communication with the light source and operable to activate and deactivate the PUV light. A protective enclosure (for example, a housing and/or light curtains) houses the PPE and contains the PUV light within the PUV light area when the PUV light is activated. The PUV light has wavelengths in a range of 200 to 1100 nm.

  • Publication number: 20200399006
Abstract: Systems and methods for treating and packaging cannabis and cannabis-like materials, including systems and methods for sanitizing raw cannabis, and systems and methods for packaging cannabis products in receptacles for sale to and/or use by end users of the products. The systems include treatment systems for treating cannabis by utilizing a rotating conveyor and exposing cannabis on the conveyor to ultraviolet radiation. The systems further include packaging systems for filling receptacles with cannabis utilizing a feed funnel that has a tapering interior that slopes toward a funnel exit port, and an auger or a feed tool at the funnel exit port and extending into the receptacle to deliver a desired dose of the cannabis from the feed funnel.

  • Patent number: 10010240
Abstract: A system for sanitizing footwear through the use of pulsed ultraviolet (UV) light. The system can include an area that receives footwear of a user and applies a PUV light to the footwear to eliminate pathogens residing on the footwear. The system may contain a protective housing to ensure that exposure to the PUV light is limited to the footwear received in the PUV light area. The system contains electrical circuitry or control mechanism for operation of the PUV light. The system may also contain a brush area so that a user may remove dirt or solid particles from the footwear by engaging bristles that contact the underside and sides of the footwear. The intensity and the duration of the PUV light may be predetermined depending on the requirements of the facility intending to use the system.

  • Publication number: 20160353785
Abstract: An apparatus for treating product, such as foodstuffs, has the product delivered to the surface of a rotating conveyor element. Without limitation, one form of the invention has a base that presents a generally planar top or upper surface, with a circular perimeter. This may take the form of a circular shaped table. Most preferably, the rotary table is made of glass or other transparent material. The rotary table conveys the foodstuffs within the field of one or more pulsed UV lights optionally arranged about the table to allow for exposure of the product to the light source. In one form, the light exposure is not only on the top surface, but also from the bottom or below the table.

  • Publication number: 20150305396
Abstract: A method and apparatus for treating and packaging foodstuffs having a supply for product to be treated and packaged, a conveyor for product, a sanitizing station through which product is progressed, where the sanitizing station uses a pulsed UV light source operated to an extent to provide a sanitizing effect on the product as product passes through the sanitizing station. The product is then conveyed from the sanitizing station and supplied to containers which are then processed in a MAP system station, wherein the product is sealed in the containers which are provided with a modified atmosphere within the containers. Alternatively, or in addition, the product can be subjected to an ozone gas treatment prior to MAP containment.

  • Patent number: 6550741
Abstract: A cushioning and stabilizing support in the form of a cradle for supporting heavy paper coils or rolls has a load bearing surface which flexes under loading to embrace and protect the roll. The cradle is preferably configured so that the center of gravity of the roll is aligned with the midpoint of the cradle, providing optimum load-bearing capacity and protection.

  • Patent number: 4854792
Abstract: A system and method for bracing and cushioning the impact of movable massive loads during sudden deceleration of a transport vehicle, such as created during humping of railway cars. Resilient elastomeric pads separate adjacent objects of the load with the thickness and density of the elastomeric material chosen to dampen typical impact forces without damage to the objects. The resilent pads are preferably formed with at least one face contoured to envelope the side of an object. Three types of resilient pads are disclosed for use in transporting massive sheet metal coils with one pad adapted for particular use at endwalls, another pad for use between coils, and yet another pad for use between mid-row coils and doorway dunnage.
