Publication number: 20240032457Abstract: A method of improving crop yields by optimizing seed depth and a separation distance between seeds and fertilizer during planting into a field surface as soil conditions change between negative field portions and positive field portions of the field surface and the transitional field portion lying between the negative and positive field portions wherein the seed depth and separation distance between seeds and fertilizer is increased in adverse soil conditions and decreased in favorable soil conditions.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 4, 2021Publication date: February 1, 2024Inventors: Mark Cresswell, Devin Lung
-
Publication number: 20230301225Abstract: A seeding apparatus includes a trailing arm pivotally attached to an implement frame and a bias element exerting a downward bias force on the trailing arm. Fertilizer and seed furrow openers are attached to the trailing arm such that a seed furrow has a seed furrow depth less than a fertilizer furrow depth of a fertilizer furrow. A packer wheel is rotatably attached to a rear end of the trailing arm. A furrow controller is selectively operative to change the relative positions of the seed furrow opener, the fertilizer furrow opener, and the packer wheel to attain a desired one of a plurality of configurations where in each configuration the seed furrow has a seed furrow depth less than the fertilizer furrow depth to provide a separation distance. The seed depth and separation distance is quickly and conveniently increased in adverse soil conditions and decreased in favorable soil conditions.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 4, 2021Publication date: September 28, 2023Inventors: Mark Cresswell, Devin Lung

Publication number: 20200222390Abstract: Porous particles comprising an active ingredient and a coating exhibiting greater dissolution rate in aqueous media than in alcoholic media are disclosed. A process for the manufacture of the particles is also disclosed, as well as tamper-proof particles and solid dosage forms comprising the coated particles. The differential solubility characteristics of the particle coating allow low the particles to be incorporated into abuse-deterrent medicaments.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 30, 2020Publication date: July 16, 2020Inventors: Philip Robert JACKSON, Mark CRESSWELL, Ian F. Patent number: 10609852Abstract: An implement for preparing a seed bed has a front row of vertical discs, followed by three rows of shanks, followed by harrows and then rolling baskets. A hydraulic cylinder is mounted between each shank and the implement frame and exerts a constant selected trip bias force on the shanks that is adjustable up to 1300 pounds. The implement frame is configured such that a total weight on the wheels when the ground engaging tools are in the raised transport position is greater than about 850 pounds per foot of width of the implement frame. The implement is towed at speeds of at least seven miles per hour with the shanks penetrating the soil to a depth of three inches or more. Residue is cut and buried and the field surface left firm and smooth.Type: GrantFiled: November 2, 2017Date of Patent: April 7, 2020Assignee: Bourgault Industries Ltd.Inventors: Mark Cresswell, Devin Lung, Kyle Bayne, Trevor Kondratowicz

Patent number: 10500201Abstract: Processes for preparing porous particles are disclosed, in which the resulting particles release an encapsulated active ingredient more readily in aqueous media than they do in alcoholic media. Also described are the particles themselves, as well as tamperproof, abuse-deterrent, dosage forms comprising the porous particles. The release characteristics of the porous particles make them useful for overcoming drug-abuse techniques, such as dose-dumping in alcoholic media.Type: GrantFiled: December 21, 2015Date of Patent: December 10, 2019Assignee: Lucideon LimitedInventors: Philip Robert Jackson, Mark Cresswell, Ian F. Patent number: 10149427Abstract: An air seeder distribution apparatus has a manifold and a plurality of delivery conduit connected to ports of the manifold. A supply conduit carries a product air stream and is connected the manifold interior. A port valve when open connects a delivery conduit to the manifold interior through the port and disconnects same when closed. A purging conduit connects the supply conduit, at a clean air location configured to receive from the supply conduit a clean air stream with no agricultural products entrained therein, to the delivery conduit such that the clean air stream has an open path from the supply conduit to the delivery conduit. When the port valve is open the clean air stream flows through the purging conduit at a low first flow rate, and when the port valve is closed the clean air stream flows through the purging conduit at a second significantly greater flow rate.Type: GrantFiled: February 24, 2017Date of Patent: December 11, 2018Assignee: Bourgault Industries Ltd.Inventors: Gerard Bourgault, Mark Cresswell, Scot Jagow
