  • Patent number: 5823093
Abstract: The fluid end of a reciprocating pump contains a plurality of manifold cylinders for pumping fluid. The fluid end has an improved liner assembly with a shaft, a coaxial piston, and a liner with a liner seal on an outward end. The liner and seal abut an inner wall of the manifold to prevent pressurized fluid leakage between the liner and the manifold. The liner is pressed against the manifold by an adjustment mechanism which is mounted to a housing surrounding the pump. The adjustment mechanism is spaced axially away from the manifold wall and allows the liner to self-adjust to the wall without the need for a liner bushing. A support device is provided for assisting in the vertical alignment of the liner assembly prior to the liner being pressed tightly against the manifold wall.

  • Patent number: 5689862
Abstract: A safety device is provided for a high-pressure flow line that is formed from sections of pipe that are coupled together. The safety device is formed from a pipe clamp having two halves that are coupled together about one of the pipe sections so that the pipe section is securely held between the two halves of the clamp. A cable is positioned generally along the length of the flow line. A cable engagement portion is joined to one of the two halves of the clamp and has a slot for receiving the cable. A removable slot closure retains the cable within the slot. In one embodiment, a resilient insert can be releasably coupled to the clamp to bear against the exterior of the pipe sections when the clamp is secured thereto.

  • Patent number: 5246355
Abstract: A pair of well service pumps are mounted on a trailer or skid or bob tail truck chassis in a back-to-back configuration. Each pump has a housing with a cylinder within which a plunger is reciprocally moved. A crankshaft mounts rotatably in the housing perpendicular to the cylinder. The connecting rod connects the crankshaft to a crosshead of the plunger. The axis of rotation of the crankshaft is offset from the cylinder axis. One of the pumps is inverted relative to the other pump so that its offset is the same but in the Opposite direction. The pumps are rotated in the same direction by prime movers.
