  • Patent number: 12079922
Abstract: A system and method for translating a 2D image to a 3D image is provided. A 2D image having pixels grouped into tiles is obtained. Contour lines associated with an altitude value are located on the 2D image. The altitude values are determined. Each tile in the 2D image is represented using at least one voxel. A height map of the voxels is generated based on the contour lines and altitude values as a base layer for a 3D image. A terrain type of each of the voxels of the 3D image is determined and objects are placed in the 3D image. The 3D image is output.

  • Patent number: 10025639
Abstract: A technique for defragmenting jobs on processor-based computing resources including: (i) determining a first defragmentation condition, which first defragmentation condition will be determined to exist when it is favorable under a first energy consideration to defragment the allocation of jobs as among a set of processor-based computing resources of a supercomputer (for example, a compute-card-based supercomputer); and (ii) on condition that the first defragmentation condition exists, defragmenting the jobs on the set of processor-based computing resources.

  • Patent number: 9432622
Abstract: High-speed video interfaces, video endpoints, and related methods are disclosed. A high-speed video interface includes a system cable, a remote camera unit, and a main processing unit. The system cable includes one or more twisted pairs. A method includes capturing near-end video images including multi-channel, high-definition video data, serializing the video data, and transmitting the serialized video data to the main processing unit through a single one of the one or more twisted pairs of the system cable with the remote camera unit. The method also includes deserializing the serialized video data with the main processing unit. A video endpoint configured to enable an audibly impaired user to participate in video communication sessions for audibly impaired users includes the high-speed video interface.

  • Patent number: 8564291
Abstract: A robust MR compatible ECG monitor (40) includes a connector (50) for connecting ECG electrode leads (44) to an internal circuit board (52). The connector (50) includes connector pins (54) that run parallel to the circuit board (52) and tangentially contact solder pads (56) of the circuit board (52) at the edge of the circuit board (52), eliminating sharp or right angle turns in conduction paths. The connector prevents movement of the connections due to mechanical stresses in all ranges of motion relative to four degrees of freedom, including translation, pitching, yawing, and rolling.

  • Publication number: 20120289817
Abstract: A subject monitor includes a belt (16) that circumscribes a cyclically moving portion of a subject (14), such as a chest cavity or abdomen. A optical sensing device (18) includes a housing; a tape (50) under tension to retract into the housing, at least one of the tape (50) and the housing are connected with the belt (16); a lens (56) configured to focus light on a pattern (52) that moves with the tape (50); and a photon detector (58) configured to detect light (57) reflected from the pattern (52). An optical decoder (26) determines movement of the belt (16) from the light reflected (57) from the pattern (52).

  • Patent number: 7911372
Abstract: An active imaging system uses communication satellites to identify the location and physical attributes of a target. A transmitter emits a time-synchronized signal directed to a target. The transmitter radiates L-band RF signals. The transmitter can be positioned on an airborne or ground platform. A constellation of communication satellites receives and time stamps the time-synchronized signal reflected from the target to form an active image of the target. The constellation of communication satellites have multiple roles other than active imaging, such as providing voice and data communications. The time-synchronized signal reflected from the target can be received by multiple satellites within the constellation of communication satellites or by multiple antenna disposed on one satellite within the constellation of communication satellites.

  • Patent number: 6888510
Abstract: An antenna providing circular polarization for received and transmitted signals. The antenna comprises a vertical conductive surfaces oriented to form a closed structure and horizontal conductive surfaces forming a top face of the closed structure.
