The electronic fish measuring device for measuring the length of a fish has a fish support including an upper support surface for receiving the fish thereon. The fish support includes a reference for contacting the fish when the fish is on the upper support surface. A length sensor generates length measurement data indicative of a length that the fish extends from the reference when the fish is on the upper support surface and is in contact with the reference. A measurement display is supported by the fish support. A controller is operatively connected to the length sensor and the measurement display. The controller controls the measurement display to display a length measurement value corresponding to the length of the fish for visual observation by a user. The length measurement value is based on the length measurement data.
