Patent number: 10345106Abstract: Described herein are various technologies pertaining to extracting one or more features from trajectory data recorded during motion of a body, and further, generating a n-dimensional feature vector based upon the one or more extracted features. The n-dimensional feature vector enables expedited analysis of the trajectory data from which the feature vector was generated. For example, rather than having to analyze a trajectory curve comprising a large number of time-position data points, the n-dimensional feature vector can be compared with one or more search parameters to facilitate clustering of the trajectory data associated with the n-dimensional feature vector with other trajectory data which also satisfies the search request. The trajectory data can be plotted on a screen in combination with the n-dimensional feature vector, and other pertinent information. The trajectory data, etc., can be displayed using heat maps or other graphical representation.Type: GrantFiled: October 29, 2015Date of Patent: July 9, 2019Assignee: National Technology & Engineering Solutions of Sandia, LLCInventors: Andrew T. Publication number: 20190186145Abstract: One of the challenges of rooftop wind turbines is that the building causes turbulence and updrafts and can create a blockage to the wind at rooftop level. That means lower speed and higher turbulence wind hitting the turbine and less power output. Prior art solutions consisted of elevating the blades of rooftop turbines or making the updraft hit the blades. Creating structures that separate the turbulence of the air below roof level from the oncoming and higher velocity linear wind above roof level, where the turbine is located, can decrease slowing of the rooftop level wind stream and enable the blades to be placed closer to roof level, thereby saving construction costs and roof weight. It is ideal to combine these improvements with a vertical axis wind turbine.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 30, 2017Publication date: June 20, 2019Applicant: Flower TurbinesInventor: Mark Daniel Farb

Patent number: 10306013Abstract: Customer churn risk scores are based on a multi-variable churn risk model relating customer and customer account characteristics to a risk of customer churn. A computer-implemented method of generating and presenting churn risk scores of customers of a telecommunication provider involves analyzing, on an in-memory database platform, customer call data records and customer records to calculate a churn likelihood value, an influence factor value, and an average spend value for each customer. The method assigns a churn risk score to each customer according to the model using the calculated churn likelihood value, the calculated influence factor value, and the calculated average spend value as input to the model. The churn risk scores for one or more customers are displayed visually on an interactive computer-user interface (UI).Type: GrantFiled: July 15, 2015Date of Patent: May 28, 2019Assignee: SAP SEInventors: Shane Bracher, Mark Daniel Holmes, Liam Alexander Mischewski, Asadul Khandoker Islam, Michael McClenaghan, Daniel Ricketts, Glenn Neuber, Hoyoung Jeung, Priya Vijayarajendran

Publication number: 20190113476Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to various methods and example systems for carrying out analog-to-digital conversion of data acquired by arrays of nanogap sensors. The nanogap sensors described herein may operate as molecular sensors to help identify chemical species through electrical measurements using at least a pair of electrodes separated by a nanogap. In general, the methods and systems proposed herein rely on digitizing the signal as the signal is being integrated, and then integrating the digitized results. With such methods, the higher sample rate used in the digitizer reduces the charge per quantization and, therefore, the size of sampling capacitors used. Consequently, sampling capacitors may be made factors of magnitude smaller, requiring less valuable space on a chip compared to sampling capacitors used in conventional nanogap sensor arrays.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 27, 2018Publication date: April 18, 2019Applicant: Analog Devices Global Unlimited CompanyInventors: Michael Coln, Mark Daniel de Leon Alea

Publication number: 20190058247Abstract: A variable tuning transceiver sealed in a protective housing, such as a bolus, is adjusted to transmit a near optimally tuned signal at a select frequency while in vivo in an animal. More specifically, the variable tuning transceiver provides a plurality of incident power transmissions over an antenna at a plurality of corresponding different capacitance levels as defined by a variable tuning circuit in the transceiver. A detector circuit, also in the transceiver, detects reflected power for each of the incident power transmissions conditioned at each capacitance level which is affected by the dielectric constant in the animal and any mismatches in the antenna. Each reflected power can then be stored in nontransient memory in the transceiver whereby the microprocessor, also in the transceiver, can select the capacitance level with the lowest reflected power found and therefore the strongest external signal from the capacitance levels sampled.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 21, 2018Publication date: February 21, 2019Inventors: Mark Daniel Matlin, Scott David Dalgleish
