  • Patent number: 10852008
Abstract: A water heater includes a heat exchanger. A controllable three-way proportional valve provides a proportionally controllable flow to the hot water inlet of the heat exchanger and a boiler return water outlet. A mixing tank mixes a cold water and a hot water. The mixing tank provides a time delayed mixed water. A temperature sensor is disposed in or on the mixing tank to measure a temperature of the time delayed mixed water to provide a time delayed mixed water temperature. A feedforward control process running on a processor adjusts a proportional operating position of the controllable three-way proportional valve to regulate a temperature of hot water at the hx domestic hot water outlet based on the temperature of the time delayed mixed water temperature. A method for controlling a hot water temperature of a water heater a water heater using a flowmeter based feedforward control are also described.

  • Patent number: 10801841
Abstract: Described herein are various technologies pertaining to extracting one or more features from trajectory data recorded during motion of a body, and further, generating a n-dimensional feature vector based upon the one or more extracted features. The n-dimensional feature vector enables expedited analysis of the trajectory data from which the feature vector was generated. For example, rather than having to analyze a trajectory curve comprising a large number of time-position data points, the n-dimensional feature vector can be compared with one or more search parameters to facilitate clustering of the trajectory data associated with the n-dimensional feature vector with other trajectory data which also satisfies the search request. The trajectory data can be plotted on a screen in combination with the n-dimensional feature vector, and other pertinent information. The trajectory data, etc., can be displayed using heat maps or other graphical representation.

  • Patent number: 10775385
Abstract: A new, stable trimeric TNF? structure is disclosed with distorted symmetry which can bind to the TNFR1 receptor to attenuate signalling therefrom, which can be used in the treatment and/or prevention of diseases associated with the soluble TNF?/TNFR1 interaction. Membrane-bound TNF? is not affected in its ability to signal through TNFR2, and thus the new structure of TNF? may be used in therapies which do not significantly raise the risk of infection or malignancy.

  • Publication number: 20200282404
Abstract: A novel gear well (200) for a crusher (1) may be characterized in that the recess (210) comprises a helical, non-uniform depth recess having a high point (212A) and a low point (212B). The gear well (200) may be further characterized in that rather than extending to a sharp corner transition (112) and then to an orthogonal sidewall (126), the floor (211) of the recess (210) may instead intersect or blend with the pinion clearance floor (222) adjacent the low point (212B). The helical, non-uniform depth recess (210) is preferably configured for improving the strength of a gear well (200) and/or configured for mitigating oil frothing within the gear well (200), without limitation.

  • Publication number: 20200191111
Abstract: Irregular motion of waves creates a challenge to obtain energy efficiently. Heave type devices have been found to have high efficiencies, but they are limited to capturing energy along one or two directions of freedom. A new system and method for obtaining energy from the heaving motion of the waves is presented. It consists of base and heave structures connected through arm devices comprising three degrees of freedom, said arms powered by the motion of the heave structure in the fluid. These arm devices allow capture of wave energy by mechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic systems.
