  • Publication number: 20090222734
Abstract: A Human-Machine Interface (HMI) system provides graphical displays to communication devices. The HMI system processes status data from machine systems to generate display data for the graphical displays. The HMI system receives selection information indicating one of the communication devices and one of the graphical displays. In response, the HMI system retrieves display parameters for the selected communication device and retrieves the display data for the selected graphical display. The HMI system processes the display data and the display parameters to display a first model of the selected communication device rendering the selected graphical display. The HMI system allows the user to modify the graphical display and view a second model of the communication device rendering the modified graphical display.

  • Publication number: 20090085753
Abstract: A method for remote monitoring of real-time information is provided. In the method, a representation is displayed of each of a plurality of items configured to generate the real-time information. Also displayed is a representation of each of a plurality of destinations configured to receive the real-time information. The real-time information is received from the items. A command is received which selects one of the items and one of the destinations. After receiving the command, at least a portion of the real-time information received from the selected item is transmitted to the selected destination.

  • Publication number: 20090089698
Abstract: In order to display automation data, a method is performed including the operations of: receiving an identification of a user, receiving a first view level from a plurality of view levels, wherein each of the plurality of view levels is associated with one of a plurality of hierarchical levels of an enterprise system, selecting a first subset of automation data from the enterprise system based on the user's identification and the first view level, displaying a graphical representation of the first view level, and displaying the first subset of automation data with the graphical representation of the first view level.

  • Publication number: 20090089402
Abstract: A graphical display system comprises a Human-Machine Interface (HMI) system and a communication device. The HMI system processes status data from a plurality of machine systems to generate graphical displays indicating status of the machine systems. The HMI system is receives selection information indicating the communication device and a selected set of the graphical displays. The HMI system transfers HMI interface software based on the selection information. The communication device receives and processes the HMI interface software to transfer a display request for the selected set of the graphical displays. The HMI system receives and processes the display request to transfer the selected set of the graphical displays. The communication device receives and displays the selected set of the graphical displays.

  • Publication number: 20090089777
Abstract: A scheduling computer receives a plurality of schedules that contain times that a new or different version of a software program will be available, times that one or more machines controlled or monitored by automation computers will be inactive, and times that a necessary resource will be available. The scheduling computer then compares these schedules to determine the time or times when it will be advantageous to install software on the automation computer(s). The scheduling computer then displays these times or time so that software may be installed on the automation computer without disrupting the manufacturing process or inefficiently halting a machine performing a manufacturing step or so that software may be installed on more than one automation computer at substantially the same time.

  • Publication number: 20090085917
Abstract: A method is provided for associating a variable and an event on a display. The variable is displayed relative to a time period on the display, resulting in a graph of the variable. A user input is received indicating a portion of the time period. A determination is made if the event occurred during the time period portion indicated by way of the user input. If the event occurred during the indicated portion of the time period, the event is displayed on the display.
