Abstract: An apparatus for guidance and retention of integrated circuit boards includes a first structure configured to receive a first integrated circuit board and guide the first integrated circuit board for coupling to a substrate. The apparatus further includes a second structure configured to be removably coupled to the first structure. The second structure includes a first spring member configured to apply a first compressive force to the first integrated circuit board.

Abstract: An assembly for dissipating heat generated by electronic components which include a ventilating panel having a plurality of vent holes arranged thereon. More specifically, the perforation pattern of vent holes is staggered to provide adjacent larger and smaller vent holes in at least two rows of vent holes. A second row of vent holes is staggered with respect to the first row of vent holes such that the larger vent holes are aligned with smaller vent holes, preferably in a ratio of two smaller vent holes per one larger vent hole. Such a perforation arrangement of vent holes may be provided on a blindswap cassette for securing and aligning computer cards for mounting in a housing, such as a sled for use in computer systems.

Abstract: A low profile auto docking multi-battery pack system and an in place service PCI storage controller card system with redundant cache and concurrently maintainable redundant battery backup are provided. A first battery and a second battery are disposed in line to provide a low profile battery pack. The first battery and second battery are shrink-wrapped together inside a frame and are slideably removable through an opening in a PCI tailstock and are hot swappable. The PCI storage controller card system is defined by a two card assembly that includes an internal connector, such as a SCSI connector to connect the two cards together.

Abstract: A method and modular mechanism are provided for protecting fiber optic cables. The modular mechanism includes an inner member for receiving the fiber optic cable, and an outer container receiving and retaining the inner member, such as, an inner tube and outer tube. The inner member and the outer container have predefined shapes to create an interference with each other, limiting a bend radius of the fiber optic cable.
