  • Patent number: 10324066
Abstract: A system is disclosed that increases the efficiency of a weld inspector by reducing the amount of weld data that needs to be examined for any non-destructive (“NDT”) phased array and time-of-flight, diffraction ultrasonic testing of welds. The system reads ultrasonic testing data from an NDT scan of a series of metal welds and creates a table of target weld indications ranked by a series of filters representative of predetermined exclusion and significance criteria. The invention acts as a weld analysis concentrator by focusing the attention of an inspector on potential weld flaws that merit their attention, thereby increasing the efficiency of the inspector. The process typically reduces 95% to 98% of the ultrasonic weld testing data that must be reviewed by the inspector, while retaining flaw indications necessary for an inspector's competent review in conformity with various code requirements and regulations.

  • Patent number: 10119540
Abstract: A sliding vane pump includes a passageway that fluidly connects one or more pumping chambers to a side chamber. The passageway pressurizes the side chamber. This fluid pressure exerts a force that counteracts the force caused by pressure differences between the outlet pumping chambers and the inlet pumping chambers. At high speed, part of the side chamber is pressurized by the smallest volume outlet pumping chamber while another portion of the side chamber is pressurized by the largest volume outlet chamber. This results in a force counteracting an uncommanded displacement decrease of the pump.

  • Patent number: 10102584
Abstract: An insurance data gathering process contingent upon dynamically captured image and informatics sensor data. The captured image data may be used to facilitate rapid insurance-related decisions. In regards to a decision to be rendered for a property insurance policy, at least one image is retrieved associated with the property. One or more accounts associated with the insured are identified and one or more risks characteristics are identified regarding the insured. An aggregated dataset is provided from the at least one image, one or more accounts and risk characteristics associated with the insured. Predictive analysis is performed on the aggregated dataset to render a risk profile for the insured regarding an insurance policy for the property. A decision is rendered regarding the insured and the insurance policy based at least in-part upon the rendered risk profile.

  • Patent number: 10098431
Abstract: An item of luggage consisting of a plurality of sides sufficient to define a first volumetric space is coupled to a frame. The frame is movable from a first position that supports or reinforces the item to a second position that clears the frame from a surface of the item, allowing access to compartments or features on the item that were impeded by the frame in its first position. In certain embodiments, a pivotable frame is coupled to the item at opposing pivot points on the item. The frame includes a pair of arms, each arm pivotably coupled to the item at a pivot point and extending therefrom. A cross member is disposed between and coupled to the arms. The arms pivotably move the cross member from a first position to a second position. In other embodiments, a modular assembly for a frame allows for compact storage of the frame. A luggage item may also be a modular item in an assembly with a permanent frame or a modular frame.

  • Publication number: 20180259461
Abstract: A handheld device for making 3D topography measurements of surface discontinuities in high performance structures, such as aerostructures (e.g., aluminum fuselages). Lights illuminate the discontinuity from multiple angles, and a camera captures images of the discontinuity. A thickness sensor generates thickness data regarding a thickness of the base material and the top protective coating. A position sensor generates position data regarding a location of the discontinuity on the structure. A processor generates geometry data regarding a geometry of the discontinuity based on the images, performs an analysis of the geometry, thickness, and position data, and communicates a result of the analysis on a display. A conforming membrane and/or a gel and an opaque lubricant may be applied over and conform to the discontinuity in order to make more uniform a reflectivity difference and a color difference between the discontinuity and an adjacent portion of the structure.

  • Publication number: 20180213175
Abstract: A computing device initiates a linked capture session to enable automatic image sharing by multiple users and devices. The linked capture session is a group of devices that automatically share captured images during the linked capture session. The linked capture session may be initiated based on a location, a group of people, and/or a time duration. The images captured by devices that are connected in the linked capture session are automatically communicated to a remote storage system that allows all users to access the images through devices connected to the linked capture session.

  • Patent number: 9987548
Abstract: A lane maintenance machine has a cleaning system that includes at least one liquid dispensing head that reciprocates back and forth transversely of the lane as the machine travels along the length of the lane. The dispensing head includes a dispensing tip therein that emits a pin deck treatment product and applies it to a pin deck. The system provides accurate, precise metering of the pin deck treatment liquid and affords board-by-board control of the dispensing action. A wiping assembly immediately behind the dispensing head provides a web of cloth-like material looped under a compressible backup roller to wipe or smear the applied liquid. In a preferred embodiment, the dispensing head is a double head, and it includes a second tip for dispensing a cleaning solution so that pin deck treatment can take place with the same piece of equipment, after lane cleaning has taken place, making the entire process automated.

  • Publication number: 20180124031
Abstract: A flexible and extensible architecture allows for secure searching across an enterprise. Such an architecture can provide a simple Internet-like search experience to users searching secure content inside (and outside) the enterprise. The architecture allows for the crawling and searching of a variety of sources across an enterprise, regardless of whether any of these sources conform to a conventional user role model. The architecture further allows for security attributes to be received at query time, for example, in order to provide real-time secure access to enterprise resources. The user query also can be transformed to provide for dynamic querying that provides for a more current result list than can be obtained for static queries.
