Publication number: 20210388681Abstract: This disclosure provides an expansion joint apparatus that has a releasable coupler that holds the tool in a locked position for run-in purposes. Once in position, the releasable coupler can be activated to release a tubular housing from an outer mandrel located within the tubular housing to allow for independent movement between the tubular members comprising the expansion joint apparatus, thereby providing a tubing system that better accommodates compaction, expansion or contraction forces applied against the completion string in the wellbore.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 11, 2020Publication date: December 16, 2021Inventors: Mark Douglas Macek, Matthew Lee Thornburg

Patent number: 11199194Abstract: A demand-based load balancing function may be provided by one or more drive controllers that takes advantage of the affinity laws to linearize the control of the variable of interest (e.g., flow, pressure, etc.). Each drive controller may be set up by the user simply inputting a few values into the drive controller. Based on the inputs, the drive controllers may interpolate control points using an assumed linear relationship between the variable to be controlled (e.g., pressure) and the current driven to the pump. Feedback data from the system may be used to continually update the drive controllers so as to potentially allow them to better balance power usage to each pump.Type: GrantFiled: March 12, 2019Date of Patent: December 14, 2021Assignee: Toshiba International CorporationInventors: Kurt Allen Bihler, David Liu, Mark Douglas Rayner

Publication number: 20210369947Abstract: A delivery device for intravenous delivery of microparticles to a patient. The delivery device is fluidly connectable to (i) a first source of an injection medium and (ii) a second source of an injection medium. The delivery device includes: a first fluid inlet fluidly connectable to the first source of the injection medium, a fluid outlet, a fluid mixer fluidly connecting the first fluid inlet to the fluid outlet, a second fluid inlet fluidly connectable to the second source of the injection medium, and a source of microparticles fluidly connecting the second fluid inlet to the fluid mixer. When fluid flows from the second source of the injection medium into the delivery device: the second injection medium fluidly drives microparticles from the source of microparticles into the fluid mixer, and the fluid outlet dispenses to the patient an injection medium that includes the microparticles.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 18, 2019Publication date: December 2, 2021Inventors: David Mark Douglas HODGSON, Marc Andre GREGOIRE, Kathryn Margaret Ann ATWELL, Gary Michael DONOFRIO, Robert Joseph ABRAHAM, Evan Christopher WIENS, Brenna Catherine KETTLEWELL

Publication number: 20210364266Abstract: An implosion shield of ballistic fabric adapted to mount so as to surround an implosion sleeve or dead-end on a power line. The implosion shield may be wrapped or formed as an envelope or tent including one piece and folded around the implosion sleeve or dead-end and secured with fasteners. A method of installing the implosion cover may include installing an implosion sleeve or dead-end on a power line, and then installing the implosion shield around the implosion sleeve or dead-end, by wrapping the implosion shield around the implosion sleeve or dead-end, or by securing an envelope implosion shield over the implosion sleeve or dead-end, or by draping the shield over the implosion sleeve or dead-end, or by mounting the shield on a frame over the implosion sleeve or dead-end, then detonating the implosion sleeve or dead-end. The implosion shield attenuates shock, pressure and sound waves from the detonation.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 18, 2020Publication date: November 25, 2021Inventors: David Karl WABNEGGER, Daniel Neil O'CONNELL, Mark Douglas FERRARI, Benjamin James HARVEY

Patent number: 11183938Abstract: In accordance with presently disclosed embodiments, a hybrid power conversion system and method are provided. The hybrid power conversion system integrates multiple power sources. An isolated DC/DC converter manages power transfer between the power sources and the DC/DC converter and the power sources are connected such that a full power rating converter is not required. One of the power sources may comprise one or more battery strings, which may be selectively coupled to a DC/AC inverter. In one embodiment, the battery strings may be connected to a lead acid battery. Based on controller instructions, the isolated DC/DC converter replaces the power flow of the lead acid battery with the battery strings. In another embodiment, one or more battery strings may be selectively connected in series with a photovoltaic (PV) panel providing power to a load. When connected to the load, each of the battery strings may provide an incremental step up in power, boosting PV panel power.Type: GrantFiled: November 14, 2018Date of Patent: November 23, 2021Assignee: Toshiba International CorporationInventors: Da Jiao, Yu Liu, Mark Douglas Rayner

Publication number: 20210350276Abstract: An online document system provides a recommendation for one or more features within the online document system to an entity. The online document system accesses a set of feature training data to train a machine learning model. The set of feature training data may describe characteristics of entities associated with the online document system and historical activity associated with the entities' usage of the online document system's features. The machine learning model may be configured to identify a feature to recommend to an entity based on the entity's characteristics and history of using other features within the online document system. For example, data representing the entity's user accounts and use of an electronic signature feature is used by the machine learning model to identify a document authentication feature to recommend to the entity. The online document system may then provide the identified feature in a recommendation to the entity.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 8, 2020Publication date: November 11, 2021Inventors: Andrew James Ashlock, Ronald Hirson, Mark Douglas Belanger

Publication number: 20210350011Abstract: An online document system manages access to features within the online document system. The online document system may receive and fulfill a request from a first entity to sponsor a feature for a second entity. The online document system may determine an access policy to restrict access to the sponsored feature. For example, the access policy may include a requirement that the second entity only use the sponsored feature with the first entity. The first entity may provide a second access policy to the online document system to enforce. If the second entity satisfies requirements of the access policies, the online document system may then provide access to the second entity to use the sponsored feature.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 8, 2020Publication date: November 11, 2021Inventors: Andrew James Ashlock, Ronald Hirson, Mark Douglas Belanger

Patent number: 11157034Abstract: A throttle pedal assembly may include: a base; a pedal movably mounted on the base; and an adjustment member extending at least between a first reference location of the throttle pedal assembly and an adjustment surface at an end of the adjustment member. The adjustment member may be adjustable to adjust an adjustment distance from the first reference location of the throttle pedal assembly to the adjustment surface. The throttle pedal assembly may be operable to indicate a throttle level according to relative positions of a second reference location of the throttle pedal assembly and a third reference location of the throttle pedal assembly. Adjusting the adjustment distance may cause an idle position of the pedal to move relative to base and maintains relative positions of the second and third reference locations when the pedal is in the idle position.Type: GrantFiled: September 30, 2020Date of Patent: October 26, 2021Assignee: Marine Acquisition (US) IncorporatedInventor: Mark Douglas Petro-Roy
