  • Patent number: 6069432
Abstract: A rotor structure includes a rotor shaft and a sleeve of electrically nonconductive material surrounding an outer surface of the shaft. The sleeve includes an inner surface having an interfering portion cf angular extent substantially less than an entire angular extent of the inner surface. The interfering portion has an interfering relationship with the outer surface of the shaft and a rotor body is carried by the sleeve.

  • Patent number: 6035515
Abstract: A method for assembling a motor shaft with a bearing, a motor housing, and an impeller is disclosed. A motor shaft extension is used to retain the impeller axially on the motor shaft and allows the motor shaft to drive an additional component, such as an impeller, located a distance from the motor. The motor shaft extension may be fabricated from aluminum or hardened steel. Additionally, the motor shaft extension may be embodied in a tube extending past the end of the motor shaft and a shaft extension pressed into the end of the tube.

  • Patent number: 5747973
Abstract: A regulating switch circuit for conditioning operation of a first load upon operation of a second load wherein the first load and the second load consume electrical energy from a power source includes a detecting means for detecting the operation of the second load and a sensing means for sensing an amount a parameter of the electrical energy supplied to at least one of the first and second loads exceeds a predetermined level. A load control device couples at least one of the first and second loads to the power source wherein the load control device has a control terminal. A control circuit is coupled to the control terminal of the load control device and is responsive to the sensing means and the detecting means to variably adjust the electrical energy supplied by the power source to at least one of the first and second loads to limit the parameter of the electrical energy to the predetermined level.

  • Patent number: 5373210
Abstract: An electric motor brush subassembly includes a housing base, a housing cover, a brush, and a constant force spring. The brush is mounted between the housing base and the cover with the coil of the spring mounted adjacent to the outer end of the brush. The axis of the coil is disposed at a right angle with respect to the length of the brush and an unrolled spring segment extends along a side of the brush and is fixed in a slot in the cover. The spring exerts a force against the brush to bias the brush against the motor commutator.
