  • Patent number: 9725198
Abstract: Shrink wrap films that are customized to have a shape matching a shape of a particular part or parts are disclosed. The shrink wrap films can be formed using unique manufacturing techniques that involve heating the part or parts prior to applying the shrink wrap film. The resultant part or parts will have substantially wrinkle-free and defect-free shrink wrap film applied thereon. In some embodiments, additional functional and cosmetic features are formed in the shrink wrap film. In some embodiments, a laser cutting procedure is used to form the features in the shrink wrap film. Methods can be used to provide visually and tactilely smooth and aesthetically appealing shrink wrapped consumer products.

  • Publication number: 20140106096
Abstract: A packaging film including one or more layers of biaxially oriented polypropylene film and an antiblocking agent. The type and amount of antiblocking agent can be tailored such that the film does not visibly scratch an item in contact with the film during normal distribution and handling. For example, the film can be tailored to reduce or eliminate scratches on a polycarbonate polymer surface. In some embodiments, the film is clear and transparent and has a crinkly texture. One or both sides of the film can also be heat sealable. Additional additives or surface treatments can be used to achieve desired effects.

  • Publication number: 20120024859
Abstract: The embodiments herein describe a container constructed in a preformed manner, such that no assembly of the container is required before use. The container includes a lid portion that is coupled to the base portion through a hinged connection such that the entire container is singularly constructed from a single piece of material. A nested configuration is achieved such that the base and lid portions are shaped to receive the corresponding base and lid portions of a second container. Such nested configuration allows for multiple containers to be stored in a nested stack, thereby minimizing storage space. The container can be fabricated from various types of re-used material along the lines of molded fiber.
