  • Publication number: 20240416400
Abstract: A system and process to achieve significantly improved separation of organics or liquid from waste material. One example of a process for separating organics and liquids from waste material may comprise the steps of: compacting waste material such that organics or liquids are separated from the waste material; collecting the separated organics or liquids; and screening the waste material with a screen such that the waste material is adapted to be separated into undersized waste material and oversized waste material of the screen. A further example of the process may comprise the additional step of combining the separated organics or liquids with the undersized waste material of said screen to form a slurry. A related system is also included. Other variations of a process and system are also described that may include any of the aforementioned features and advantages.

  • Patent number: 10864524
Abstract: An auger system adapted to shred large materials. An exemplary embodiment is comprised of dual opposing augers that are adapted to grab, compress, and shred the material, reducing the material size such that it may be discharged through a side outlet opening and/or an extrusion tube into, for example, a standard roll-off compaction container. An exemplary embodiment allows large material to be processed in a low speed device with reduced equipment dimensions, providing operator safety with low profile loading, lower noise level, reduced chances of material being expelled from the processing chamber, and ability to use conventional material transport (e.g., semi-trucks).

  • Patent number: 10640309
Abstract: Exemplary embodiments include improved systems and methods for sorting and metering materials to be recycled at a material recovery facility. Systems and methods for the accurate and automated sorting and metering of recoverable materials may include a bunker with an integral conveyor adapted to meter presorted materials such that predetermined amounts of the materials may be delivered to a baler for baling and sale. Exemplary systems may include an auger screw type conveyor sized and shaped to deliver the materials to, for example, a baling system. The systems may also include a crusher for reducing the volume of the materials prior to metering from the bunker; by reducing the volume of the materials in the bunker, a baler may operate more efficiently, increasing output from the facility.

  • Patent number: 10457480
Abstract: A cantilevered dumping system comprising a dumping mechanism that is adapted to be repositioned (e.g., reversed) relative to a base structure such that there may be multiple modes of operation of the dumping mechanism relative to the base structure (e.g., loading of materials and/or movement of the dumping mechanism, etc.). An exemplary embodiment of a dumping system may allow for the connections of a dumping mechanism to a base structure to be changed (e.g., reversed) such that the operation of the dumping mechanism relative to the base structure (e.g., loading of materials and/or movement of the dumping mechanism, etc.) is different. Another embodiment of a dumping system may include a base structure that includes multiple guide plates and/or guide rails to facilitate the desired modes of operation of a dumping mechanism relative to the base structure (e.g., loading of materials and/or movement of the dumping mechanism, etc.).

  • Patent number: 10421617
Abstract: A cantilevered screw assembly comprising a speed reducer to facilitate rotation of a screw. The speed reducer may be connected to a torque arm that is adapted to control or limit undesired movement (e.g., wobbling, orbital movement, etc.) of the screw during operation. In effect, one exemplary embodiment of a speed reducer may essentially float on a pivoting torque arm (and the shaft of the screw) such that the torque arm is adapted to limit undesired movement of the speed reducer and screw. As a result, an exemplary embodiment may eliminate the need for alternative drive systems or other means to control undesired movement of the screw. An exemplary embodiment may be particularly useful for light or infrequent duty or other small-scale applications to reduce the likelihood of a breakage of a screw or another portion of a cantilevered screw assembly (e.g., the bearing(s) or bearing assembly, the gears, etc.).

  • Patent number: 10081148
Abstract: An exemplary embodiment of a screw crusher may utilize a cantilevered screw with an inverse tapered shaft with flighting for conveying the product up the length of the shaft for compression. The screw may include an end flight configured to provide thrust to the product for further conveyance beyond the end of the screw or additional compaction when utilized with a receiving container. An exemplary embodiment of the screw crusher may utilize a single moving element in relation to a cylindrical tube for compression of the product. Also, an exemplary screw compactor may utilize a fixed replaceable restrictor tube section and an efficient screw design making it more cost effective and efficient to operate than other known compactors. Furthermore, an example of the screw crusher may be fitted with perforated or the preferred ā€œVā€ Slotted tube to perform liquid removal in addition to the compaction of the material.
