  • Patent number: 10570686
Abstract: A downhole tool including a mandrel, at least one moveable component mounted to the mandrel, and a locking ring mounted to the mandrel. The locking ring includes a plurality of locking ring segments that enable relative movement between the mandrel and the at least one moveable component. A plurality of circumferential spaces is arranged between corresponding ones of the locking ring segments. At least one load bar is arranged in at least one of the plurality of circumferential spaces. The at least one load bar is mechanically connected to the at least one moveable component.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 28, 2018
Date of Patent: February 25, 2020
Assignee: BAKER HUGHES, A GE COMPANY, LLC
Inventors: Charles M. Meador, Matthew J. Krueger, Mark E. Ramey
  • Patent number: 10233709
Abstract: A system of tubulars includes a non-expandable mandrel having a body including an uphole end, a downhole end, and an outer surface. The non-expandable mandrel includes one or more slip members that are outwardly extendable relative to the outer surface. A seal assembly is arranged at the downhole end of the non-expandable mandrel. The seal assembly is settable after outward expansion of the one or more slip members.

  • Patent number: 9574428
Abstract: In one aspect, a wellbore system is disclosed that in one non-limiting embodiment includes a first wellbore capable of producing a fluid from a first formation, a second wellbore intersecting the first wellbore at a junction, wherein the second wellbore is an open hole and capable of producing a fluid from a second formation and a sand screen at the junction configured to inhibit particles larger than a selected size from flowing from the second wellbore and the junction into the first wellbore.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 23, 2013
Date of Patent: February 21, 2017
    Assignee: BAKER HUGHES INCORPORATED

  • Patent number: 9243479
Abstract: A lateral is gravel packed without a junction in place in a single trip into the wellbore. A disconnect is provided between the isolation packer in the lateral and a main bore packer. The inner string assembly in the gravel packing completion releases a disconnect with a shift tool and then releases the main bore packer so that the inner string assembly takes out the main bore packer and the upper portion of the disconnect when pulling out of the hole. A junction is then placed into the main and lateral legs with a packer having a seal bore into which the production string is sealingly stabbed to produce out of the main bore and/or the just completed lateral.
