Abstract: A system and a method are disclosed for controlling voice communications through a mobile computing device. In one embodiment, a mobile computing device enabled for telephony communications establishes a telephone call to transmit voice signals and mutes the established telephone call. When ready to transmit voice signals, a control switch configured on the mobile computing device is depressed and held for a duration in which to transmit those voice signals in the established telephone call. Once transmission of the voice signals is completed, the control switch is released to re-mute the established telephone call.

Abstract: Techniques to manage contact information are described. An apparatus may comprise a mobile computing device. The mobile computing device may include a subscriber identity module having a first set of contact information. The mobile computing device may also include a contact management module. The contact management module may include a subscriber identity module cache manager to retrieve the first set of contact information from the subscriber identity module and store it in a subscriber identity module cache. The contact management module may also include a contact information database having a second set of contact information. The contact management module may further include a contact database manager to retrieve the first set of contact information from the contact information database and the second set of contact information from the subscriber identity module cache for a contact application. Abstract: In a computing device, customization data is persistently maintained independent of the device's operating system. Customization data may stored in a computing device's persistent memory (or ROM or equivalent memory component), along with but independent of the operating system. When the computing device is first initialized, or when the computing device is initialized immediately after a hard-reset event, the customization data is not lost.

Abstract: Apparatuses and methods to mask identification information to create billing mechanisms in an online listing system are disclosed. In one embodiment, a computer-implemented method of operating an online listing system includes determining an identity of a user based on an identifier entered by the user that uniquely identified the user; and capturing call history information when routing a proxy telephone number from the user (e.g., a renter, a buyer, a prospective buyer, a mortgagor, etc.) to a lister (e.g., a landlord, a seller, a rental manager, a mortgagee, etc.). The identifier may be the proxy telephone number and/or a code entered after dialing the proxy telephone number. The proxy telephone number may be converted to an actual telephone number prior to routing the proxy telephone number to the lister.

Abstract: Eyewear with a replaceable lens include an elongate center member, a pair of temple arms, and a pair of connecting members. Each connecting member is secured to one of the temple arms and to the center member, and has a slot formed in a surface thereof. A lens is received in the slots of the connecting members, with a rear surface of the lens along an upper edge of the lens being spaced from the center member so as to form a gap therebetween. A nosepiece may be secured to a lower edge of the lens.
