  • Patent number: 7616099
Abstract: A digital processor-based remote controller of a wireless remote control system includes a small number of manual input devices, such as keys and scroll wheels, and a graphical user interface. The remote controller can have a single scroll wheel with internal push-to-activate switch, and a small display. This configuration minimizes the size of the remote controller, while allowing for a large number of different control commands to be transmitted to the controlled system. In addition, the remote controller can be configured by the user of both right- and left-handed operation.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 13, 2007
Date of Patent: November 10, 2009
    Assignee: Dei Headquarters, Inc.
Inventors: Tyson James Mackjust, Mark Edward Rutledge, Jerry Wayne Birchfield

  • Patent number: 7135962
Abstract: A security system in a vehicle extends its protection to installed equipment of the vehicle, such as audio components, navigation systems, and entertainment systems. The installed equipment is armed and disarmed by the security system, preventing the equipment from normal functioning after unauthorized removal. The security system further enables programming, monitoring, and diagnosing of the installed equipment through the security system's remote control, through a configuration and maintenance tool that connects to the security system, or through other items of installed equipment within the vehicle, such as a rear-seat entertainment system.

  • Publication number: 20030222755
Abstract: A credit card sized remote control transmitter comprising a complete independent remote control transmitter with an internal power supply, user operable switches, a system security encoder circuit, a transmitting circuit, an antenna, and printed circuit board combined into a transmitter embedded into a card that is the size of a normal credit card or smaller and thin enough to be easily and conveniently stored and carried in a user's wallet, purse, or garment pocket. The transmitter can be easily, conveniently, and comfortably stored and carried as an emergency or convenience remote control transmitter in case the primary remote control transmitter fails, is lost, is misplaced, or is inaccessibly locked inside the vehicle. Additionally, the transmitter optionally comprises a mechanical key for any emergency or convenience operation of any locking mechanism.
